What is everybody using for a lubricant for the slides on the sunroof to keep them clean and working well? I put some red lithium grease on over the summer which worked great but i noticed this weekend that it started to turn yellowish and thicken a little. Temp specs are -20F-400F so the cold weather we're having shouldnt have done it.... any suggestions?

Hmmm.... That's a new one. 70K and 4 yrs on mine, haven't lubricated it once. I guess any grease that's safe for plastic should be fine. I'd be concerned about using something that would be either too thick or would attract dirt.

When I just did a good wash-n-wax on the KJ on Thanksgiving morning, I cleaned the tracks really well, and just put a THIN layer of chassis grease on the tracks. You don't want to goop it on there, cuz it will only get gummed up and clogged with dirt and debris. I little bit goes a long way!

Hope this helps!

My nissan maxima suggested I use petroleum jelly. My 03 KJ service manual says nothing of lube for the sunroof tracks....
