I'm getting a lift for my 03 in the next month or so. It will either be the franken or a rusty's. I've researched both a lot. I've also looked at A LOT of pics and it seems the Franken lift sits higher than rusty's. I know they are both 2.5" lifts, but does the franken actually sit higher when lifted?????

Yes, a good 1" higher. I've installed several of both of these kits and the Frankenlift always sits higher.

I was able to get over 3" lift from a Rustys with a clevis (front) and spring isolator (rear) lifts. I wanted to avoid the UBJ contact of the spring and the A arms that is common with the Frankenlift. The contact can be prevented with the new A arms from JeepinAl or a simple bumpstop but I just did not want to mess with it. I can also add a Rusty's strut plate up front if I wanted to get an extra 0.5" lift but that would result in UBJ contact.

Both are great lifts IMO, the Rusty's just fit my budget and offroad demands.

Not familiar with the rear spring isolator lift, what is that???

Its just the stock rubber peice that sits on top of the spring. You and get some more lift by tossing another one in there.

That is about it...

Stock Spring and one spring isolators

Rear Springs Installed and 2 additional Upper Rear Spring Isolators

You can see the two additional upper rear spring isolators above the new Rusty's spring. This gives an extra 0.5" lift and is the rear isolator lift. It is important to use some silicon spray between the isolators to prevent squeaking.

Both lifts are fine. AllJ has just had OME custom make rear shocks that will fit better, no longer require the rear bumpstop, and have fixed the front spacer that the coil spring sits on. The bottom line, IMHO, is that you get what you pay for. AllJ is more expensive, but the fit and finish is nicer. The Rusty's works too, and several hard core people swear by them.

Just drive out and talk to Quinn. He'll tell you all about them.

OK, so Quinn told me that the OME had a bidirectional flow control and the ranch only has unidrectional. He said it would help when going over things like speed bumps. He said that the little hop you get when hitting a speed bump is eliminated. I guess that the OME's spring down faster and keep your a-end in touch with the surface better. Anyways, he has had them custom made and they will fit the mounting brackets out of the box. For anything more than that, please call/email Quinn.

Well I guess I've decided to go with the Rusty's kit. I'm also gonna get the Rusty's strut plate mounts to get and extra half inch in the front and will do the isolator lift in the rear. As far as the spring isolators, do i get them through a dealership, and do remember what the cost was? Thanks for all your help guys, I will be sure to post some pics when the lift is done.

They are $12 each. I got a total of 4 (2 for each side). A complete write up on my experience is available HERE.

My dealer had to order them from the warehouse, and took the two extra back w/o a problem. I added one set to the rear to flatten out the Frankenlift...

moose you know i gotta get on here and take up for the rustys lift.

ive wheeled it pretty hard and have had no issues ( except for putting on rancho rears ).

it doesnt raise the front as much as the franky, but you can get that extra bit a couple of different ways..

it does look sweet on the dwd's kj no doubt. ( but not as good as mine  )

Hey, I had decided to get a Rusty's until Miah put his in the for sale section. Just didn't want to spend a grand on a daily driver lift when I only get to wheel every other month or so... Now if I lived in Moab....
