Hey guys...nice work! I want one and was wondering if you saw any difference or benefits with the new snorkel on or is it just for those Aussie river crossings at this point. Thanks!

That looks great!
Good or bad on the fuel consumption?

good looks like i have gained a couple of litres per hundred kilometers with roof basket and mudders , will put on my 245/70R16 at's and take the basket off for a better comparison next week but at the moment the ram air effect is working

I'm still sitting on the fence with my comments on fuel consumtion as mine is a CRD 2.8. After a few days of running around with it on I can say at the end of the day it does feel better, especially since I put in a brand new GENUINE MOPAR paper filter today. My old one was fairly dirty and I felt a slight pickup in the turbo spool at low RPM's. The throttle response gained at highway speeds is definately noticeable, and i'm sure Fouro's would agree on the Gaser's behalf.

I've decided i'm definately going to change the inlet pipe to the airbox to something closer to 76mm or 3" . At the moment it has a stepdown in the inlet tube to around 56-58mm - Too small for my liking. I'm sure i've lost a tiny bit of low down throttle response and lost around 1 ltr per hundred in consumption.

Like Fouro's, i'm going to take off my bashplates and roof basket and convert her back to road mode for a while to see the true benefits of the cold air ram and the potential gain in throttle response without the additional weight.

Here's the e-mail I just got from Dirk at dpgoffroad.com about the snorkel.

Hey Chris,
We've been waiting for the new KJ snorkels for some time.
Seems like they're always just a week or 2 out from production.
Been hearing that for a while now...
We heard the same thing about the XJ snorkels. One fine day, they actually came out! Of course, we ordered a bunch too.

I'm not sure exactly when the KJ snorkels will come out, but we will definitely post up when they do. We are the USA distributor for Airflow, so we'll be taking orders as soon as they are available.
Thanks!
Dirk

OZLtd...any real world numbers from your snorkel mod? It seems like this is better gas mileage wise for the gasser than for our diesel so far.

Thanks!
