Good day all, just wondering if you guys had to do any alignment work after installing your 2.5" lifts? I just ordered the Rustys full 2.5" kit and new tires as a xmas gift to myself this year. The Rustys webpage says to do a full alignment after the lift is installed, is this just to save there stupid if anything happens?

Thanks in advance...

Well, after studying the way that the control arms work on the front suspension, it really should not throw it out of alignment too bad but I would definatly do it if I was getting new tires anyway. See if you can find one of those 'lifetime alignment' deals because you can often throw off you alignment when wheelin' anyway.

It does change the tow for sure. Its best to let the lift settle some for a few 100 miles then get an alignment. Taking it offroad or hitting some big dips and bumps in the road will help alot too.

I would be a bit weary of waiting too long to do the alignment.
It will be thrown out of whack. How severe really depends on your vehicle, but be careful, as you KJ may be very squirly until you do the alignment.

So I guess my next question would be if I should do the clevis or not. The front looks to sag a little now. Not sure if it will be necessary after the lift? Can the clevis be dont without disassembling anything?

Wait a couple of weeks of bouncing around in the KJ before getting an alignment. You do need to get it done though. If not, you will wear your front tire's outer edges down fast.

I started with the clevas lift but it didn't hold. There are spacers that people use for that now. I decided just to let it be just in case it prolonged the life of the ball joints. I now have 25k miles lifted and my ball joints are just fine.

I got an alignment right after I lifted becasue it was free. But I can tell you that my ties are not wearing evenly now.

That's exactly how mine was after the lift. I got mine aligned two days after the lift, and then again @ between one and two months after. It was WAY squirly right after the lift before alignment, and toe was significantly off.
