need opinions for rear diff protection my choices are

1. Poison Spider rock ring

2. Crane High Clearance diff cover

took a run this weekend with a local club and was a little worried about the cover getting peeled off

I dont have a diff cover on the TJ ,dana44, and I have wheeled the heck out of it in telico ,gilmer and countless runs at home and have yet to peel the diff cover
I have seen guys back into stuff and break them that way
my plan is to go with a Nth degree slider on the rear diff to protect the pinion as well as the cover ,it leakes a little now right at the bottom
I can not think of any body who makes one like that for the 8.25 but I would bet that some body does I would look at stuff for XJ's and ZJ's as they both came with 8.25's
if you dont want the slider I would go with the poison spyder stuff it is top notch

I think the price Vs. protection of the one RL carries gives it the Win. The Crane is bitchin but pricey in comparison.

I concur. Those are some HD diff covers at a great price. You can't beat it.

I picked up Rusty's dif cover for about $45 about a year ago. It is heavy duty and covers half of the dif. It fit just fine.

Check it out.

Diff cover info:

Crane High Clearance says the 8.25" cover is out of stock until Spring or Summer 2007.

I bought the Poison Spider Rock Ring after just about peeling my diff cover off on a run at the beginning of the year. I love it and haven't had any problems since. I'm not saying this is the only way to go but I do like it.
