That's ok, I do insurnace for a living, and trust me, after you file she will pay more than $500 over the next three years.

Won't she have to pay the 500 dollar deductable anyway? One more question for the insurance guy...Could her inability/unwillingness to pay her deductable impact my repairs?
When you file against her insurance she isn't required to pay the deductable. She only pays her deductable when she does damage to her own car. Her insurance company will fix your KJ, you don't pay for anything. She will receive an increase in her rate when she renewals. Also, if your KJ is in the shop for longer than 24 hours demand to have a rental car.
On the flip side, if you live in a no-fault state and you file the claim YOUR rates will increase. (Gotta love a no fault state).
If you haven't filed I would to it today. As time passes she has the chance to get ahold of her insurance company and tell her side of the story. Guess what, the two sides hardly ever match.
