Hey guys.. I'm not trying to hi-jack your thread but I got a quick question..
I'm thinking about getting the Jeep Liberty roof light bar.. for those that have it;
a) do you like it?
b) Is it worth it?
c) How much extra wind noise does it make?
thanx..

I think the lightbar was worth it! I think it makes my jeep look better, and the lights are great to use when you can. As for wind noise, I haven't noticed a huge increase.

i LOVE my rooflights. probably my fav part of the whole jeep. the brights seem worthless/not very bright compared to using my rooflights, almost makes the brights useless, dont seem to shine the road very much more than the lowbeams and the foglights together. plus i have sylvania silverstar ultras in the roof so that helps too :)

I have roof lights on my 06 renegade and I love them I very rarely use my high beams, i prefer the roof lights for lighting the road especially when the deer are in the rut I miss at least 10 deer thanks to the rooflights. As far as noise goes my are almost completely silent with the covers on, with the covers off hoxever the do make some noise. they start to howl at about 75 or 80 mph but go silent again at about 85 or so. I have been looking in to getting silverstars for the roof I have them in the headlights of all my vehicles

Is there a way to aim the roof lights? mine are almost uselessly high. I guess they'd be fine to light up the road for a half mile, but I'd just like to light up the trail closer at hand.

there is a hole behind each light that adjusts the lights via a cam type contraption. you'll need a #20 torx driver to adjust them

Good to know! I was wondering the same...

I have used mine a few times but can not help but feeling I would get more utility out of a locker. They look nice and perform well, but I would get other items first if my jeep did not come with them.

Ditto. But I do like them, and that was part of why I got the Reney in the first place (other than the hood :twisted: )

I run yellow bulbs in my fog lights.. normally i drive at night with my running lights and fogs on.. since my lift I haven't re-aligned my headlights.. so when I run low beams it's like running highs.. plus I have some super white bulbs for my low beams.. all in all.. untill I find time to align them the yellow fog lights with running lights works well for me...

what kind of bulb did you use? brand, part number, did you have to do the bulb housing mod to get it to fit for the foglight?? are they really really yellow? thanks!! thats gonna be my net upgrade. because since i have hellas in my headlights, and sylvania ultras in my rooflights, my fogs look blah lol

Now...what would be cool to do with those covers is to cut out the lettering, that way you could project the letters onto stuff :lol: .

I don't have the brand or part number on me. ( I went to my local stereo dealer and asked for some yellow lights).. I'll find the brand and part number (tonight hopefully)... are they yellow ??. oh heck yeah... big time.. again I have some nice white (with a tiny tiny blue tint) headlights.. so they look great.. as for the bulb housing mod ??.. I got no idea what your talking about (sorry) these ones went in just like the factory fog lights..

As has already been mentioned, it depends on the state for the actual cover/no cover law (some states even say no white lights above the hood line except emergency vehicles). As for being pulled over for them, I have pulled someone over for it once, but I believed them to be DUI, and the conversation about the covers gave me the rest of the clues I needed to perform Field Sobriety Manuevers and Blow them on the Intoxilizer. And FYI, I did write the ticket for the covers and the DUI, and impounded the truck, but if he had turned out to be sober (not the way he was driving!) it would have been a Hey cover them up, it'll save you a rock bustin the lens.
