Hi all,

Here in the UK there is next to nothing available for my Jeep, so if I want to lift it I'll have to bring something in from your side of the water.
Question is:

I'm on a budget - in your honest opinion, which lift should I go for? I only need 2.5", and the truck will only see occasional wheeling.

I've checked out websites, and read up on Rusty's and Frankenlift and the rest. But there's nothing like learning from someone else's experiences...

Rustys lift is a really good Spring lift. It gets all new springs and shocks but is only around $450 I believe.

If you went with a cheap spacer lift, such as the Daystar lift, they go under your existing springs to gain lift. It may make the jeep ride alittle stiffer, but is a good all around cheap lift.

You could do a simple clevis lift and spring isolators in the rear for a smaller lift, but still more than stock.

My truck is pre-lowered.

An '02 I guess, although over here it's registered as 2001. Go figure.

How much should I go if I want to clear 31s?

I should say that over here, our wheeling tends to be mud and water, not so much of the rock crawling you guys get up to - so ultimate flex and clearance wouldn't be an issue.

I agree. Because you have prelowered springs, you could get away with a Daystar spacer lift really cheap. If you could get together some more cash, go for the Rusty coil lift.
