Hey all,

Looking to get some new black Cragar Soft 8's. I just don't know what the right size is. I know I want 16x7's with a 5 on 4.5" bolt circle. But is 4" backspacing enough? Those are the only ones i could find, i just want to make sure that they're going to fit correctly. I'll be throwing my Grabber AT2's on there (245/75/R16) TIA.

They'd be a good match up. 4.5" backspacing looks good but you need to do some fender trimming to get 0 rub.

I have the 16x8 Cragars on 5" BS. The rear rubs with my 245/70/16 tires(without extended bumpstops). The front also rubs alittle but Ive not done any trimming and do not plan to since its only minor.

The 16x7 rims will be alittle lighter since they are not as wide(thats a good thing). They may cause the front and rear to rub alittle more though since the BS is less. They are 1" narrower, so that means they will stick out.......1/2in more? Is that right? 16x7 is one inch narrower, and have one inch less BS.. I think thats right. :? Idk..

They also come in 16X8 with 5" B.S. which are the same size as the Rubicon Moabs.

but is there any benefit to an 8" over a 7"? I would think the 7" would be a little lighter and better protected off-road. Not to mention more likely to hold the bead when aired down since it's thinner.

It seems you're set on a 16" rim. but just to let you know the 15X8" with 4.75" backspacing is an option that affords more/less expensive tire options.

Yeah, i was thinking about going 15" as well, but my tires still have a decent amount of tread-life on them and i can't really afford another set ATM. Plus, I kinda like the way the 16"s look on there.
