I think the people on here are trying to look out for your safety but you wont have it.

So help me to understand....you have a lowered liberty?? I really want to see a picture of this!!

Hey, jcphoto20 if I get a chance I'll take the front sway bar this weekend just to see the difference. I drove my Comanche a while back with both bars off while I waited for new sway bars. It did lean more but was very controlable.

Pre-Lowered KJs are HIGHER than the rest...mine has the Prelowered springs. There is no way it is a "LoRider" if it is PRELOWERED!!! Do you understand the Pre-Lowered term? It was BEFORE (hence "Pre") they starting LOWERING the liberties. So why would you call something that is taller a "LoRider"?? :?

JCphoto20... Where do you wheel where you dont need skidplates, the mall???? And why would you take these off? These are for protection while offroading. I'm not going to jump in the debate about swaybars or anything but you need to protect your oilpan and if your automatic trans pan from stuff your going over. and simple physics will tell you the more weight you have on the bottom of something will keep that side down easier, like a sail boat...They put weight in the bottom of those things to keep them upright.

I think it's very important to note that it is VERY clear in the archives of this LOSTKJS BBS that disconnecting your KJ's front swaybar is considered EXTREMELY dangerous and not condoned or encouraged by anyone connected with this BBS.

is there a reading comprehension problem goin on there? i said PRE LABAMBA. and i said labamba was lorider, so.... of course it is pre lowered. im not the one having a problem understanding anything.

and everyone knows what a spring rubber is, dont you watch nascar? and no they are not for safe flex, they stiffen the spring up a bit without making it too stiff. mine are drilled and safety wired about halfway down the spring so they dont affect anything until you have a heavier load, which i talked about earlier, with the 3 teenage boys in the back.

thanks for chiming in, i had already addressed this as well. but i put the skid plates on when i go off road, and dont have them on the rest of the time to save gas.

btw did you know if you could grab the top of the transamerica building and lay it down it would right itself back up. it was designed that way, has one continuous pour (took a few days, my dad worked by there then) like a full block, 100feet deep solid concrete.

Well, it had to happen. You just slammed the experience and intelligence of at least half the folks on this board.

I didnt know what a spring rubbers were until I just googled it, and not everyone watches nascar. To me its kind of like watching two rabbits chase each other around a tree, except sometimes the rabbits will turn around and go the other way.

Those spring rubbers look like they would severely limit articulation though.

I'm pretty sure that the amount of acticulation loss would equal the amount of space between each spring coil that gets a "rubber." Or it's a 1 to 1 relationship. Also, it would appear that the only loss will occur in compression (or stuffing as most here call it) and not for rebound (or droop) since the rubber only works when compressed.

I guess it's kind of sad that I've never actually "stuffed" either of my front tires still. I've been close, but not like some of the pictures I see on this board.

I've got around ten thousand miles on my swaybar-less KJ. Oh yeah, my wife drives it daily. I must be stupid according to Little Matty's line of thinking. Then again, wasn't he one of the ones who swore their was not UBJ contact with the spring on the Frankenlift?

Wasn't me Mutt.

So you go without a front swaybar in your KJ?

After a few times driving around local streets and short trips here and there with the front sway bar off, i've decided its paramount to leave it on for Bitumen use. The risk of rolling or losing control if you had to swerve suddenly isnt very apealing to me or the wife.

But off road (everything except the beach, where it seems to perform BETTER with it ON in soft or hard sand!) I always take it off.

Rear is now off permanently as it does next to nothing
