Got some tickets to the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona from my friend Michael Gomez who will be racing the #65 TRG Motorsports Porsche GT3....if you guys are watching it root his team on...so far he's got the fastest time for his team at 1'57" and change.

Is anyone else in here actually going to be there..I'll take my lost shirt and wear it just in case....

I'll be watching from the "arm chair" with a frothy beverage so sadly I won't be attending.

I went in 2003. It was pretty interesting. I was able to get a ticket and pit pass for less than what I would pay to see a NASCAR race. I wandered through pit road and the garages the morning before the race, spent most of Saturday at the track, went back to the hotel, and came back that night to see some of the night racing. I came back the next day and watched the finish. I saw part of a fiberglass body piece fall on a crewmember, I saw a GT car hit a spectator, and it was the first year of the Daytona prototypes. If I ever get a chance to go again I will, but I would stay at the track to get the whole experience. The biggest thing that tripped me out was that there was a wine and cheese tasting there during the race on Saturday. Much different from what I was used to, but then again people were getting drunk at breakfast time too, so some things did stay the same.

I used to attend when I was local, but quit going when the NASCAR lights basically did away with the night racing at the 24hr. Just isn't the same. I will be at the ALMS Sebring 12 hr in March. Have fun.
