COOPER STT

Has anyone bought these tires and if so how do they hold up to road driving??? Give me some info. please.

this is what kj lad says about them. from what i have read they are great tires. I have read all good reviews about them. jacksjeep took them to moab and nothing but good things to say about them.. he said them samething about the noise. I will be getting them for my Liberty soon. hope this helps

I had them on my '04 Ram. They are very loud on the road compared to the BFG MTs, but they wear well and they do great offroad. They also handle fairly well on road too, even in rain...as good as you can ask for with an MT.

Ive had em for about 4 months now. Loudest at 45 to 55 mph. Highway speed of 65-75 they are pretty quite. Get them rotated every 3500 miles. At least that is what believe....... I've had them on wet pavement and am amazed at the grip I get.

What's the general price for these tires? I recently saw the Kumho Road Venture MT on a truck and fell in love with them, especially for only 80+ bucks a tire. Cooper is usually pretty well priced, so I thought I might check these with the Kumho.

I am gonna buy these next week I got a price on 265/75R16 6ply, for $147.05 mount and balance per tire and $155.25 8 ply, mount and balance per tire. I saw them on JacksJeep and thought they were a very aggressive looking tire

Definately get these tires, they work flawlesly except the noise but that is expected...

I run cooper discoverer S/T 265/70R16. It's a great off-road tire and is quiet on the road. I'm happy with them.

I run the new pattern (I assume it's those you're talking about) STTs on my KJ, size 245/75 R16.

They're an awesome tyre offroad, especially in the mud, and they work very well on the road too. They're better on wet roads than the BFG AT KOs I had previously, which was a surprise. If you're just going to use them on the road then that's probably a bit of a waste of money (but I'm sure you're not) but they do look very cool!

Obviously they're noiser than the no-terrain standard tyres, or all-terrains, but nothing that can't be fixed by adjusting the stereo volume control.

You don't necessarily want to use lower pressures in mud. You want all the clearance you can get and dropping the pressures lowers the vehicle. Lower pressures are great on rocks, sand and dirt tracks, but the bigger footprint you get from the lower pressure isn't really needed in mud since you're sunk into it and a whole lot of the tyre is gripping anyway on the sidewalls etc.

I have these tires on my jeep. Haven't put too many Km's on them to give you too much feedback...but they look great

The only thing I can say for sure is that THEY REALLY HOWL AROUND 30-40 MILES/HOUR SO YOU WILL HAVE TO TALK LOUDER WHEN YOU HAVE A PASSENGER.

Well, I got'em. They look nice and from the little driving I did, they ride nice.

Got the 235/70/16's. Not sure how that "snow on snow" concept works but guess if I listen to the farmers almanac, I'm going to find out. :lol:

I have 245/75/16 load E Cooper STT on mine and love them great on and off road.

I was wondering what air pressure every one is running with the Copper STT?

I agree, Cooper makes a good tire and I like the look as well. Basing my experience from the Discroverer ATR's and I have had similar on my truck a while back. Great price and great tire in my opinion.

Had'em in some mud this weekend. Was some really wet stuff. Had dropped the wife off at a Target and I ran up to a Lowes dwon the road. Passed a "construction site" with some mud pits :twisted:

(thanks mother nature). So, I decided to go and make sure everything was up to code

. I drove slow through a DEEP mud pit, about 3 KJ's long. Crawled right through it. Then did some "soft hill" climbs and rut jumping. Went back to look at the depth of the mud and noticed a perfect cast of the tread. They cleaned up well but I would hate to be the person behind me during a mud run or in snow (hence the brand M+S). When I did make it spin, it was really slinging the stuff all over. Went back to get the wife, on the way out to the jeep, she remarked, "What happended. Take a shortcut?" :roll:

Being a larger tire then before, mud was all over the mirrors and side and hood. Looks like it slings it over the flares too easy. Winter is going to be fun around here.. :wink:

This is a VERY popular tire in Vermont (as you can expect from all the snow we get here during the winter) and I'd bet that it is a great tire going off that fact alone. It seems as if they are on every vehicle imaginable - Jeeps, Subarus, pickup trucks, Ford escorts, etc.

Bought mine from the local Tire Factory. Had them siped for wet/winter traction, so far so good. The road noisi is minimal, gets a little louder when taking corners.

Love the look and function of these tires!
