does a hidden front hitch receiver have more advantages than tow hooks, or is it more trouble than what it's worth?

Never had the tow hooks, but I really like my front hitch.

Looking at the pics, the front hitch is attached to the liberty directly and is much heavier. The tow hooks are pretty heavy duty but there is a stamped metal bracket between the tow hooks and the frame = weaker.

i was just thinking because i have a shackle receiver and it works really really well, and i haven't really used the tow hooks so i don't know of their capabilities.

I think the hitch is stronger than the hooks. It can also be used as a jacking point. They are supposed to be discontinued, but I think they can still be found.

Draw-Tite Front Hitch #65042
See pics on my cardomain page (linky in sig) luv my yellow d ring

Might find a Drawtite or Reese equivalent on Ebay but they stopped making them last year. I believe you can still get HiddenHitch version (all three are one company) but the HiddenHitch one is 2 piece whereas the DrawTite and Reese are one piece.[/url]
