Does anyone know what problem with the automatic transmission does the trans-go kit fix, and how?

Problems is not the basic transmission. Has problems with the lock-up clutch in the torque converter failing. Likely the result of a weak/leaky front pump in the transmission. F37 recall is supposed to fix the problem, only time will tell.

Too bad DC didn't put the manual trans in the U.S. diesel to begin with. They could've saved themselves at least half the warranty costs on the auto. I would think that most people who buy Jeeps would get the manual, I sure would've.

The 6spd would have been a dead issue. No one in America can drive stick anymore. I see it all the time here. Automatic cars get a premium here. Sometimes 400% mark up.

Don't remember where but it was in an article about the Mini Convertable in the last couple of years, the writer couldn't understand why they built them ONLY with a Manual. It was stated that roughly 1%, if I remember right. of new car sales are manual. It may have been something closer to 10% but still to exclude yourself from that large of a market is a little wacky. needles to say, i would still have rather had a bang shift.

it is getting pretty sad how lazy Americans are becoming. if it doesn't have an automatic, heated leather seats, power mirrors, and a navigation system nobody wants to drive it.

I would love to put in a 6spd, get rid of power locks and windows and have just something simple and worry free.

anybody have ideas on how to get a part list for this swap. I keep getting the runaround from parts houses and dealers. I think I'll have to try DC directly to get any thing.

Art Carr builds torque converters. http://www.artcarr.com/index.cfm

I called them and I'm waiting for a return call.
