Think about it, Nth obviously knows about the L.O.S.T. board since working with All J. SO they are "smarter than your average bear" when it comes to doing an online poll for their next lift, obviously since they quooted members here as like they did. Bad Juju on our members part but.......

Don't worry guys I am sure the KJs time for a decent lift will come

R&D on BALLS may come to screaching halt if Al sells his KJ. Unfortunately, I think the KJ is dead for any R&D from the bigger outfits. The model has been around since 02-I dont see why they would suddenly pay attention to it. There's already more stuff available for the JK and even the yota FJ and they are brand spankin new.

As the KJ gets older, they may take more interest. I hope :? With enough time, you can do anything....

I've been holding onto that dream since I found this board, but seeing the JK and FJ release and how fast mods started coming out for them sort of opened my eyes to reality.

LOL on the fact that they mentioned me and EOD on the poll. Like the XJ poll wasnt skewed beyond all reason.

Sounds to me like I'm giving up hope on that lift. They're not gonna do it.

Heather, I'd definitely do an IFS lift and would loan my rig for R&D if that's what it took.

About that bumper deal. We couldn't get 10 to buy them right away but I'd bet if they were in stock you'd sell them all in about 6-9 months. We had 7 confirmed and I even offered to buy the other 3 just to do the deal. That is a great lookng bumper and unique compared to the other choices out there.

The bumper cost too much to produce to let it sit there and gather dust with the hopes that one day someone would buy it.

No shortage of buyers for Rock Lizard's bumper and it doesn't even exist yet beyond prototype. Yours has always generated rave reviews and has been trail tested for a long time. So it's a business decision and that's cool.

It's a sweet design. Consider licensing it to a fab shop willing to take a shot at it?

I always thought about that, but didnt know how it would go over with either of them. I would love the All J bumper, no offense to RL.

We are already in some early development stages of KJ lifts with All J Products. In the beginning of February Quinn will be working on the 2nd full conversion using 75% Nth product and direct Nth help. We were very happy with his first conversion, but this one should be even better. If everything goes to plan this system would be what Nth Degree and All J Products would be offering to KJ owners for large lift heights. A very rough price on a system like this is $4000.00-$6,000.00 in parts, plus tires, gears, lockers and labor (unless you tackle it yourself).

Hmph! That coulda been me as I Was 2nd in line for a SFA KJ w/ All J before changing my mind. Darn! Oh well, I think in the end I will be happier in a modded JK. I could see myself still possibly doing a SFA KJ in the future if we end up keeping my blue KJ for one of my sons. :)
Rant on:
As for a larger IFS KJ, I don't think I would bother to go larger than 32's on it anyway so a simple IFS lift is all that is needed and i can see why Nth isn't interested in doing one. You have to know that if they did one they certainly wouldn't trust the front diff to bigger than 32's and hard wheeling so they would have to tackle adding a custom front IFS diff and long travel axles, etc. to the list and then the price would get out of control and probably surpass what a SFA "kit" would cost because you would NEED to replace the front diff if you were serious about wheeling hard and Surviving. (yeah sure a few would buy it but I'm going to bet very few would)
I am also betting we won't see any gear companies offering larger than 4.10's for the front diff so running over a 32" tire is just going to kill your gearing. (Oh and another thing while I'm on a roll....You can't run lower than a 4.56 in the 8.25 either so that is limited though decent w/ a 33" tire now.) If they didn't address the diff concerns and people bought their lift only to blow up the front diff, then we would constantly hear how They, Nth, screwed up and made a crappy lift that destoyed their Jeep. Look at past history around here with some of the rants we have had about vendors and you can see what I mean.
I hope they do nail down a KJ SFA "kit" as once they do I think some of the other Jeep model owners will take a more serious look at the KJ as a viable future off road vehicle for their family. I doubt most of them would consider an IFS "kit" in the same way since most know what you can do w/ a SFA equipped Jeep. ( I imagine the new JK Unlimited is going to satisfy many future 4 door wheelers needs though)
This isn't just my opinion either, as i have talked to quite a few different Jeep owners that have expressed that they "wished" Jeep had done a SFA KJ instead of IFS. They also get excited about the prospect of a SFA modded KJ. If Jeep had made it SFA to begin with, I guarantee there would already be 6" lifts available for it and many more of them on the trail. Heck, you should see the crowds gather around allyrands when we stop on the trails. I would say about 98% of the comments are totally positive about it. BTW, I am not knocking IFS as my KJ was my first Jeep and I love both of the ones I own and my wifes KJ will stay IFS, this is just MY rant on what I hear and see. Rant off.

BTW, Hey Nth!! Come on out to Moab 07 and see a bunch of IFS KJ's (and a couple SFA ones) tearing up Moab if you want to see a nice representation of what we, lost, are about.

To pick up where JJsKJ left off..... I looked into buying a jeep since my second child was born on november 15th, 2006 (I realised that I could not fit his car seat in my VW, yet alone have room for my 4 year old daughter.... I almost immediatley ruled out the KJ because of the IFS, but after chasing down countless quotes for the 4-door JK I happened to come across a 2006 KJ for $15K and I am not into wheeling enough to justify $10,000 more for a SFA without power windows, power door locks, etc... (My wife pointed out that I got my libby for $15K cheaper, and for it being a daily driver that it is worth saving that money and getting the JK in a couple of years once there are some lightly used models)

But yes, I would have pounced on the KJ if it was SFA, just as long as they keep it with a manual transmission.

Well, theres been some discussion over on the jeepkj.com website and I wanted to apologize for encouraging the spamming of the poll. It was just a matter of fact statement and had no idea that it would be taken so seriously. I failed to see any fine print suggesting one vote per person on this thread, so I assumed that it was like many other online polls where they allow and sometimes encourage repeat voters. So, again, I felt a need to apologize for that comment.

If they would fix their polls to allow only one vote per person, it wouldn't have caused the exaggerated voting.

If they did a little research they could probably tell how many times a vote came from one computer, you can track this stuff.

It would be pretty difficult to make it so only one vote was allowed per person. One vote per computer would be a tiny bit easier, but imagine if 3 room mates shared a single computer but all had different Jeeps?

They could, however, rule out the majority of the spamming by looking at the access logs... but that would be kind of time consuming. It's still doable though. I bet the KJ might have won had they gone solely on votes and got rid of the multiple votes per user.

Maybe if everyone sticked to the honor system they wouldn't have to do any of those things. You all got caught cheating and are crying because you didn't win. You have to remember that in this day and age that everyone monitors the internet. When you get on here and tell us how you cheated and brought the voting up by a thousand then the vender has to dismiss those votes. Now he must decide wither the other votes are valid. By cheating you really made all of your votes countless. I konw that the others did also, but I did not see them on there boards telling everyone they did and to do it also. I tell my 3 year old all the time cheaters never win. Hence no kit for us all.

If you look at the email they sent me, the voting had nothing to do with which lift they were going to choose. It did not matter if every KJ ever sold had voted for the KJ. They were still going to do the JK first. The voting is to get the visitors a chance to see what they are planning and in truth, draw more visitors to their website.

Okay, they could fix it to one vote per computer and not per person...unless they had a log-in requirement. But that would lead to people signing up with all kinds of names/passwords/emails. One vote per PC works....keeps large families from doing multiple voting also. Of course, just run to the local library and vote from there. Take the laptop over to the local coffee shop with WiFi and vote there also. Regardless, the voting did not affect the KJ decision.

desertkj, sorry for leaving your name on there.
