Does your liberty have ABS, mine doesn't thats kind of why i picked mine out.

Just curious :D I know the 04 or 05 ones started to come standard, so i guess this only applies to the earlier ones.

ABS is only standard on the 06 libbys. Along with TC, ESP, and ARM. May also have BAS.

I got 02 used. Has every option I could think of except factory tow package, sunroof, and ABS.

well i personally Hate ABS anyway

Anti-Braking-System

it does help if you have a sophisticated system, but those don't come in too many cars.

I'm a BIG fan of the ESP program on my 06... I dont think until you actually have it to, do you notice how useful and helpful it is. Especially with the Brake Force Distribution... I can have 2 wheels on the snow and 2 on the pavement and hit the brakes... The computer sends significantly more brake force to the 2 wheels on the pavement and stops the vehicle with out sliding... Also the TCS is very useful when accelerating around a corner when its wet and slippery... Might just be personal preference though... I know I wont have another car without it though

When in 4WD LO, the computer shuts off the ABS under I think 7 MPH... thats been very helpful too when offroading... The Jeep knows when you need and and when you dont!

My 02 has ABS. Saved my skin a few times on icy roads. A good upgrade IMHO.

My 03 Sport has ABS. I almost had the dealer find another Sport without ABS, but this unit had all the other stuff I wanted so I went ahead and got it. I'm not a real fan of ABS, but it hasn't bugged me in the four years I've had it.

No ABS and I found it out the hard way on a rainy day shortly after I got my KJ. Slid right through an intersection...luckily was the only one...thank god. :x

Now that I've been doing alot of winter driving in the KJ...I'm really used to NOT having ABS. I really dont think I would want it now...it helps..but I would do without it.

ABS won't do much for traction during a stop but at least you slide though an intersection straight. So it's got to be safer than not having it.

Yea you're right...but my last car it seemed to help in the rain. I have the drum rears and disc fronts so the fronts almost always lock up.

In my case that day...it really wouldn't have mattered if I had ABS or not...I was pretty much committed and then it turned yellow real quick....if my mom hadnt been with me...I would have went right through it on red.... not good...but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Within the first two months that I owned my KJ (bought it in February) the ABS system saved my butt. We had a decent amount of snow late in February. Well one day in early March, all of that snow started to melt and the following night it froze back to ice. The morning of the re-freeze I was traveling down hill towards a green light and thelight turned yellow / red and I wasn't going to make it... I just stepped on the brakes and came to a safe stop almost at the interstection. phew! Right then I knew that any vehicle afterwords would get ABS

The ABS is really worth it in my book because we all know "it's better to have it and not need it; than it is to need it and not have it."

Ice/Snow is really the only place ABS is effective...and in situations like yours is the only time I'd wish I had ABS. Pin and grin I suppose...
