Okay, they could fix it to one vote per computer and not per person...unless they had a log-in requirement. But that would lead to people signing up with all kinds of names/passwords/emails. One vote per PC works....keeps large families from doing multiple voting also. Of course, just run to the local library and vote from there. Take the laptop over to the local coffee shop with WiFi and vote there also. Regardless, the voting did not affect the KJ decision.

desertkj, sorry for leaving your name on there.

Hey tokyo, like I said over on jeepkj.com, I wasnt blaming you for the name. However, I do have an issue with rockjeep's comment. Based on his sig and the number of posts he has, he's another recon wannabe trying to start problems.

I agree Tokyo, besides werent the two highest vote counts for the XJ and KJ? I could have swore the JK wasnt even close.
They are just doing what they have always done...lifts for solid axle jeeps. Is the JK's suspension really that different than others they make lifts for, they probably already have most of the parts they need to make it work in production already.

Has anyone tried to get Total Chaos to do a lift for the KJ? It seems more up their alley anyhow.

Wrong. Rockjeep is a good guy, A KJ owner and supporter, and is just pointing out the obvious. Don't let it rub your wrong. To wheel w/ him and meet him in person is to love him.

If they would fix their polls to allow only one vote per person, it wouldn't have caused the exaggerated voting.

If they did a little research they could probably tell how many times a vote came from one computer, you can track this stuff.

Yeah-now it's their fault.

I dont know him, but he has been dead on here. Plus he dates back to the early days of the board so I bet he's more than a wannabe.

I think you're just ticked because you were specifically named as a spammer by Nth.

No one ever said it was their fault, I think we were just pointing out that they could have eliminated most of the spam votes. The company has the right to do whatever they want, but why take a poll just to ignore the results? It just seems like a publicity stunt now.

Of course they could have but why should they have to even bother? The only publicity stunt was by some people here trying to manipulate the vote.

I am an easy going guy. Yes we just got our own kj last month, but I have been involved with them since the get go. I have been involved in the industry for a long time now. If anyone here like the allied beadlocks, then you like my design, as well as many other companies. I have followed this thread and even voted myself (once). I only pointed out that even trying to alter the out come of voting will bit you in the butt. I knew from the start that the kj was not going to be the winner with the jk just coming out. There is already a kit to lift the kj far enough without a SAS. There is not a current market big enough to justify a SAS.

I just want to wheel. And everyone is welcome in any size jeep.
Kory

Did anyone watch Extreme 4x4 this weekend? The new FJ was getting a nice brand new 5" lift added. The FJ IS an IFS also.

How long has the FJ been out? How long has the KJ been out? Give me a freakin' break!

The fact that the Grand, the Comamnder, H3, and the FJ all have IFS and they have big lifts but the KJ doesn't, shows the respect KJ's AND the KJ owners get.

For those that went to national events this past summer, how many saw FJ's at those events? More than KJ's? If so, probably not many more. Yet they all have big lifts. Nth Degree said they look at those events to see what the majority of vehicles are there that helps decide their lift projects. As I said before, it is a double edged sword. With everyone having bigger lifts, you will see more of those vehicles at those events. W/O the bigger lift, you are more likely to NOT see those vehicles.

Why should we ever expect a bigger lift? Every year, a new model "something" comes out and then the companies go make big lifts for them and ignore the KJ that has been out for 5 1/2 years.

I applaud those companies that took the risk to make a 2.5" lift. First and foremost, thanks All J.

Will the upcoming new KK get a bigger lift before the KJ?

Just venting my frustration. Another hope raised then smashed into the dirt as usual.

So for those of you that owned XJ's when they first came out, did they have to wait as long to have big lifts? If not, don't say, well it is because it has an SFS because the fact that those other SUV's I listed above with IFS already have big lifts so that option is negated.

Just venting my frustration.

Good morning sleepy head!

And for the record, besides the handful of MA LOST guys I've wheeled with, I have seen more total FJ's on the trails. Toyota even had booths at some of the events showing the thing off.

The FJ already has big lifts for it because it shares a platform with two other Yotas, the Forerunner and the Tacoma. So all the stuff that is out there for those two trucks also fits the FJ. Same goes for the H3. It is built on the same frame as the Canyon and Colorado, so again, interchangeable parts. And need I remind you one of the reasons cited by Superlift on why they did a lift for the WK first, because the same parts could be marketed to be used on the Commander. If the KJ shared a platform with another vehicle, there might be more aftermarket support for it. Now when the KK comes out, since it shares the platform with the Nitro, maybe you guys will finally get the bigger lifts and other mods because a lot of the parts will probably fit both vehicles. And if they use the same suspension design on the KK that is currently on the KJ(just making a lot of body and interior changes over the current Liberty), then the aftermarket will be able to market parts for both the current Liberty and the new model. That will open up a lot more options for you guys.

Although the Nitro is based on the KJ platform the suspension is different. I Dont know if it is different enough matter when it comes to lifts but I have read that it is indeed different. I am not sure about the KK though.

I have never seen a FJ on the trail around the east coast, at least where I wheel(GWNF, Rausch Creek and Paragon).

One of the members of my local jeep club bought a FJ for a daily driver and lifted it 4" and put a new bumper and winch on the front a few weeks after getting it. He doesnt even offroad it, just for show. His Rubby is for offroading.

You also have to remember that the fj is wider. KJ's are to narrow and are maxed out on cv angles. Wider can go farther. Now if someone really wanted to do it right they would design half shafts with u joints to replace the cv's.

 Seems like a no brainer to me.
And longer control arms would increase the track and decrease driveline angles as well. Someone has got to do it! Longer control arms and stock backspacing would give a nice look as well. I know it wouldnt bother me if the front was a bit wider than the back, as long as it worked well.
