Is my Libby dying??? My friend has an 03 liberty sport. He said it started running crappy and dying yesterday. It happened on his way in to work when it was very cold, about 8 F. He can start it and drive short distances and then it starts to bog and sputter then die completely. After about 10 minutes of sitting or disconnecting the battery, he can start it and drive again...Anyone had similar issues??? The Jeep has 35k on it and is stock.

First of all, at that temp. do you have a block heater? That could help the poor engine get to a decent operating temperature.

Second, if under warrenty, hand it over to the nearest stealership, that would probably be the "easiest" thing to do.

As it turns out, the libby has 43K with no warranty. His stealership said that the crank position sensor and the cam sensor??? went bad. It cost him $460 for $60 worth of parts...poor sensored word...
