Some of the guys were out on the Cape last weekend. All the way out at P-Town. You can wheel on the beaches for $30 (7 day pass). I was going to go, but I couldn't justify a 7 hour round trip, just to spend the day driving (especially with a 7 year-old in the back seat, kinda makes for a long day). Anyways, I think that it's the ONLY place leagal in MA to wheel. If you look up the guidelines for MA forests and parks, nothing over 1000 pounds is allowed :(
As far as the tires, a 245/70/16 will only rub at full lock, to the left, in reverse (at least that's what mine does  )

Good luck!

I have a pre-lowered '02 with a 2' lift. I have 245/75 STT's and they rub quite a bit more than I would like. Just a little more food for thought.

I did the same a while back about taking the steps off and it made a world of a difference. If you could post pics of your tire up grade looking to do the same thing and same size tire.

I just went up from the 235 to the 245/70-16 and only have minor issues with the tires rubbibing the inner wheel liners when the wheels are at almost full lock. Only about an inch or less of contact from what I can tell.
