If any surface is hard and flat enough, you'll get drive-line binding in 4-lo or part-time. I don't get the binding in 4-lo because of all the articulating. If I were to try and turn on a huge, flat rock in 4-lo or part-time, I'd get drive-line binding. Been there, done that. Just my experience. And yeh, you can "make" your tires slip, but the last thing you want rock-crawling is a tire spinning a lot when you try to "gas through" the turn. I lost a couple lugs on my tires from that very thing. Something's gotta give in that situation, and I'd prefer to avoid it.

I think our Jeeps are built to take a little bit pt misuse. Not abuse though. I think if you forget and feel the steering get heavy, take it out. By no means drive on dry pavement. I think we might go a little too crazy about seeing if Jupiter is aligned with Venus before we put in 4 pt.

I never use it. They are pretty good about clearing the roads up here and the roads are patchy with snow packed, dry , packed again. I just run in FT.

After this thread, I ran right out and put my Jeep in Full Time and 4-low just to check and make sure they still worked.

FULL TIME for the win!
