i was getting my car aligned and they told me that they did the most they could but they maxed out the specs on camber, and that they suggest me getting an adjustable camber/caster kit

do they even make these for our jeeps?

thanks in advance!

That's total BS,I see you have Al's a-arms and they will allow your KJ to get back in spec. The place you got your alignment is feeding you a line of c$#p!When I last got my alignment done they got my camber in factory spec(-0.40 degree-0.40 degree, they got mine at 0.00 degrees both sides) with no problems and had plenty of adjustment room left over. There just to lazy to work at it a little bit,I hate slackers!!!!!!!!!!

Some of these places will tell you anything, when I did my lift the place I always go to, (little mom and pop place) was booked up for a few days so I tried another place, They pulled it in and then about 15 minutes later the guy comes out and says "Did you know that Liberty has a lift kit on it?" Well Duh..... then he proceeds to tell me that if I leave it for 2 days they can align it but it will be 125 dollars plus whatever other parts are needed. I said never mind, then they wanted 55 dollars for the 15 minute rack time, they never got it! I took it to my shop later that week, took them less than an hour, it was done and perfect. So dont let them feed you a line of BS

You should be able to get camber and toes set to factory specs. Caster is the one that will not be within spec. For every inch of rise I believe it's like 3 degrees of caster that are lost.

WOW 3 degrees per inch! That means I'm out by about 9 degrees. The factory caster range is 1.90 degree to 3.10 degree and a cross caster of -0.50 degree to 0.50 degree, they got mine at 2.10 degree(left) and 2.15 degree(right) with a cross caster of -0.30 degree. So yes they can get it in factory camber and caster(toe is to easy) with a lift and Al's UCA's.

Ok, stock caster as per factory manual (might not be the same as the local shop) is 3.5 Deg +- 0.6 Deg. The best I could get is 3.1 Degress with a Daystar 1.5 inch front lift. I might be slightly off on the numbers for the Liberty's IFS but the concept is the same. When you lift, caster is reduced making the vehicule more prone to twitching.

With a 2.1 Degrees, you are out of factory specs but a could technician will align the other two so that tire wear is not a problem. It should be more twitchy.

It's kinda late so I think I got the numbers mixed up. I believe it's 1 degree for every 3 inches lift or so. That would make more sense.

don't see how that can hold true for IFS maybe solid axels only but that still would depend suspension geometry, so each different design would have caster affected differently per hight increase/decrease. p.s. typicaly around 3deg+ is the caster you need for most streetable applications (with some extreme exemptions), the closer you get to 0 the less drivable the vehicle would become at 0 caster you would be likely fighting your rig to stay strait even on slightly cracked pavement. ever see a motorcycle with negative rake? 8)

Here are my post 2.5" lift numbers after they aligned it. I took it straight to the shop immediately after lifting it, and noticed it was sitting kind of cockeyed when it was on the lift, so it probably would not be a bad idea to get it aligned again after everything settles. Just after a week of driving and going off-roading one night I notice that it isn't cockeyed anymore. My caster is probably off left to right though because awhile back I hit the limestone hard enough to bend back the ear of the k-member where the passenger side lower control arm attaches. Those of you in Florida, be CAREFUL when doing water crossings, Limestone is HARD! I'll eventually get the Al's upper control arms, and have it realigned, and if way out of spec still, will take it to a frame shop and have the subframe straightened back out.

FRONT:
LEFT, RIGHT

Camber:
+0.7, -1.3

Caster:
+3.3, +0.9

Toe:
+0.13, +0.16

REAR:
LEFT, RIGHT

Camber:
+0.4, -0.8

Toe:
+0.14, +0.10

Wow, those numbers are all over the place. I guess the tragectory is straight but tire wear will be affected.
