I installed an EVIC received from eBay from an '04 Liberty into my '04 Rocky Mountain Liberty. Everything is working well, except that now I have the TPMS error on startup. The light on the dash comes on, the bells ring and the display reads 37/28/0/0 for my four tires.

Why would two of the tires have readings and two of them have zero's? Does that mean I have the sensors in the rims and only need to train the system? Is there any way to get rid of the warnings of the low pressure without installing the sensors? I love the EVIC, but the ringing and constant return to the tire readout on the EVIC are going to drive me bonkers!

Thanks for any help!

Have you ever trained the sensors? There should be five sensors that need to be trained with a magnet.

I didn't think I would even have the sensors in my car since the EVIC was not standard from the factory? How do you train them? I would be pumped if they came with the car and saved me from having to buy them!

ohh, since it was giving two pressures, I just assumed that you had gotten the sensors already. You can check if you have them by looking at your valve stem. If it has the regular black stem, then you do not have the sensors. They are around $60 a piece at the dealer. Ive not been able to catch a set on ebay. Good luck with that.

That is what is confusing me as well. I appear to have normal stems, but I am getting a reading for pressure.

Well, it's actually better now. Now the EVIC gets no readings from the tires or the "--" sign in all for locations. It beeps 6 times on startup now, but once I hit the C/T, it stays there and doesn't go back and warn me about the tires constantly. Close enough for me until I can find some inexpensive wheel sensors!
