Well, a little while back I was asking for advice on shocks. Every shop I talked to said that the Rancho RSX shocks were pointless (too rough on road too soft offroad) and the Rancho RS9000s were just horribly expensive. As a result, I went with the RS5000s. $300 installed and it is a world of difference. Took it down a washboard road near me yesterday and the difference was like night and day. Almost felt like a paved road. So, IMO, don't rule out the 5000s just because of how cheap they are.

So you paid someone to install them? Is that $ labor and the price of the shocks?

I love how my OME shocks ride offroad. They are perfect I believe. Ive never ridden in a Jeep with the Ranchos though. :?

i put the ranchos on the rear of the kj after the rusty's shocks blew..
i still say thats one of the best additions i have made to the libby.
those shocks are unbeatable.

I put the RS5000s on the rear of my KJ about a year ago and they are great on road and off. Although I don't crawl rocks or anything extreme, I do roam around bad old rutty trails at a snail's pace, and the Ranchos work really well. $300 installed sounds high though, I paid $160 CDN and put them in myself. Mine are the Durango length units because of the lift.

I have the frankenlift with ranchos all around, The libby rides better than stock. All the rancho bashing is crap, they ride very nice on and offroad. :D

The $300 is after labor. We didnt want to work on the front IFS and would rather have someone with the correct tools do it. Oh, and that was shocks and struts for all the way around.

Definitely, $300 for all 4 installed is a bargain for a great set of shocks.
