LOL, snowgod, you pretty much beat me to the punch...

I didn't know you used to have a saab.... do you miss the turbo ever?
I was on my way home yesterday, going up a hill and I really began to miss the soft weeeeeeeeeeeee of the turbo
Oh well, my wifes former coworker's husband is talking of getting rid of his 91 corrado VR6 (blown rings) how nice would it be to put a garret t3/4 on a rebuilt VR6 and use my libby for a tow vehicle for it?

We need to start a seperate forum:
"guys too cool to drive automatic"
(before anyone breaks out the flame torch, it's an inside joke with my wife, she tells me that it's a macho thing, and that I only got a manual so she couldn't drive it.... I told her that she's right  )

Seriously, my wife had a heck of a time learning to drive manual in my golf, and once she got the principal down, she pretty much stopped working on it. Once the weather clears up I'm going to take her out in the libby and see if it's any easier for her in the jeep.... I have a feeling that it will be because it's a little bit harder to stall the libby than it was the VW with a 9 pound flywheel (versus the libbies (probably) 50 pound flywheel)

Only above 1000 feet or so. What I miss most of all was the razor sharp handling and slick ride, but I knew what I was doing when I traded into the Rubicon. I got to go out for breakfast this morning in a sleet storm, which is something I woudln't have done in the Saab. On the other hand, it now takes me about half an hour longer to get to the mountains (but I can get there in a blinding snowstorm now  )...

Thanks for the advice everyone !
I guess I'll just keep practicing, and either get better or learn to live with it.
Since I can't give it back I'll pretend it's a forced marriage and I will learn to love my Manual Libby.

I test drove one at a different lot last night to make sure nothing was wrong with mine. It seemed pretty similar. Mine makes more noises when shifting, from underneath somewhere when pushing in the clutch or shifting (not squeaky, but you can hear parts shift around or little clicks and clunks). The one I test drove also had a little different shifter I believe. Not as noisy as mine...........none of the fun plastic squeaking, clicking noises I get when I shift.

You might be able to lube some of the nylon bushings on the clutch pedal linkage with a little silicon spray. Might quiet it down some. Just be careful not to get any of it on the pedals.
