Cooper Discovery STs, STTs cheap

235/85R16 $112

I don't know if the company is legit, but I hope so because I'm very tempted to get four 255/70s STs for $388, to my door. Those prices seem darn good to me. I like the look of both of these Cooper tires and have read good things about both of them. I have one Cooper dealer locally that I have yet to check with for pricings of these sizes. I'm not sure what size or tire to go with. I have even considered getting the STs on my current rims, for daily driving, and getting the STTs on some black steel crawler rims for offroading. Last I remember it was like $50-100 to mount and balance my four M/Ts at Firestone. What do other LOST folk get charged for mounting and balancing 4 tyres?

I would go for the stt if they were the new tred design
I have seen them out on the trail and they do very very well
They were mounted on an XJ and talking to him he said that they are real quiet on the highway compaired to MT-R's
He had rubi rims that he bought with MT-R's on them and said he liked these way better so far though this was his first ride with them
but he also said that when he bought the rims and tires they only had around 6-8K on them

I will probably get them for the KJ but I mostly like the look

I'd have to agree with jason thompson,had a buddy in WA with the STT's on his truck and he liked them alot.

I am putting 33" mickey thompson MTZs on my wrangler today, which are almost the same tread design - mickey thompson makes the STTs for Cooper.

I'll let you know how the road noise goes, but they look KILLER.

Those STT's on the link you provided look like the OLD version, not like the ones pix posted.

I was looking into the S/T's a little while back and was quoted $490 - $495 locally from 2 different places for 4 tires mounted & balanced and with free rotation and road hazard. That was for the "P" tires in 245/75/16. So you may be able to get just as good of a deal locally and get the mounting and rotations.

Exactly,Mickey Thompson does'nt hardly make anything,he just endorses them.We are a Cooper dealer where I work,and I bought 4 Discoverer ATR's,and they are also very agressive,yet very quiet and smooth riding.You might find these to be even less expensive. :?:

I really liked my Destination M/Ts, but they'll probably only give me another 10,000 miles before I have to pick up something else. I was thinking of going with the STs since I've heard they are a great all-around A/T tire, and then buy some other rims and beefier tires. I'm pretty sure the STs will be my next purchase, to hold me over for daily driving and maybe a little fun. The STTs are now near the top of my list for the offroad tire choices. I was almost surely settled on the Swamper LTBs or Trxus M/Ts.

I have the ATR's and love them but I have also been checking out the STT's for the heck of it. As long as they arent bad (vibration or noise) on the highway I may switch too.

FYI - I found a place that just does tires, no alignment or anything like that and I walked out with 4 ATR's for $420 with warranty (lifetime rotation/balance/fix a flat etc). If you find a place like that it might be worth checking out because they beat out every place I priced. Also, Benny's carries STT's and I believe they were relatively inexpensive too.

Ihad the new SST on for about a week they road as good as the ATR I have now,they grabed a bit at full lock and The dealer swaped for the ATR.I should have kept them and used a spacer.

The new ones are the STT Tec 3's. I have them in 35x12.50x15 on my LJ Rubicon and they are great so far. They are actually quieter than my old BFG MT's. Discount Tire will price match from anyone as long as you have written proof of a compeditor price. I picked my STT's w/ lifetime balance & rotation, and Road Hazzard Warranty with tax for $1150.00 out the door. Thats not a bad price for all 5 tires.
