I am amazed you have not torn up those exhaust tips in the terrain I have seen you wheeling in.

If the shop you are going to can't handle it, find another shop. Personally, I don't get fake dual exhaust. :? I have a tough time keeping my current exhaust off the rocks, let alone worrying about two exhust tips.

You do realize that you're going to lose a ton of low end torque if you go to a true dual exhaust, right?

As for clearance issues I have none,it looks like the pipe is close to the gas tank but that's really the skid, which acts loke a heat shield. It's not close the the brake lines either.JJKJ as for going offroad I have only hit 1 of my tips(pass side) and barely dented it,as soon as I get RL rear bumber I'm going to have the pipes bent so they sit higher,I just like the look for some dumb reason. The tips have fared better then the muffler so far.

Sounds like a good reason to invest in a gas tank skid! :D

Depends how bad you want duals, gas tank skids are not that expensive, Mopar is real resonable and I got a Kilby skid for mine on ebay for like 120.shipped, brand new just scratched, like its not going to get scratched sometime anyways

You can get the borla dual one here:
http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com/jeeplibmoppe.html

They aren't too hard to put on yourself

I've had this exhaust for 5 years with no problems. I would highly recommend it instead of a custom dual exhaust. You'll be much happier.
