I recently purchased a Alpine CDA-9856, and the Metra Dash Mount kit. I was wondering how you get the headunit to be flush mounted, when I put the head unit in the bracket it sides recessed back from the face of the mounting bracket. I would like it stick out just abit, or flush with the bracket.

If anyone can help me out with some tips or tricks, it would be appreciated!

In the liberty its a cage mounted headunit. The tabs that you bend to have the cage attached to the dashkit you could try bending a different set of tabs that would have the front of the cage stick out a weeee bit.

Got it in, and got it flush.. Just bent ever possible tab possible and ever combination of tabs possible untill I got the look I was going for. Head unit makes a major difference in the sound, even with the stock speakers. Havent had time to get the Rockford speakers and Amp in yet.

Cant believe how easy the install was, once I got it in the mounting plate properly the way I wanted it.
