Finally got the spare and assembly off. I saw a few others on the site (tjkj2002) and though it looked pretty nice. It was rather a pain because of the old rusty bolts but I'm happy with it now. I really like the new look. With the black plastic handles and bumper everything blends in together nicely, no color matching needed!

Where are you going to put your spare? Roof rack in the works?

I'm just going to throw the spare in the back on long trips, I'm not too worried about it.

I'm going to fill in the holes with some black plastic squares, just waiting till my dad comes home to figure out what exact they are. I was going to have them welded shut and the tailgate repainted, but I want to be able to bring it back to stock.

Looks good. Shame the bumper has that cutout though because it looks a little wierd. Otherwise looks pretty cool. Plus, it would make it easy for towing.

It looks OK I guess if thats what you like. Personally I like the spare mounted onthe back, gives it that jeep look. Thats on of the things that attacked me to the liberty was the rear mounted spare, but different strokes for different folks.

I agree...keep the spare, it looks good, especially with the Mopar bike rack on there. very rugged. Without the spare, it looks borderline Pilot to me....just a thought. What Jeeper would go without a spare?
