Ya know i went to radio shack and got this one and i love it itsd great, and everywhere i read, people say, ucan have an great expensive radio with bells and whistles but if u dont have a good antenna, and good coax cabel it wont work right. Get what u want but a 40 dollar cb is all u need spend the money on antenna and coax. my brother uses a firestick but wants my wilson instead, i actually get more range on my wilson.
so recap: 1) a cheap radio is fine as long as the antenna and coax are of high quality
2) where will u mount the radio and antenna (important to know b4 u buy)

If u have questions send me a PM i'll tery to help u with any info i can. I researched the hell out of CB's b4 i bought my gear.

Dig anything up you want, that's what it's here for. Holler if you need anything.

Absolutely, we're here to help!

FWIW, I use the Cobra 75WXST. It's not the absolute best radio ever, but I can get pretty good range (5+ miles) and it doesn't take up any space either.

It comes with two battery packs, one for rechargables and one for alkalines. You can slide the battery pack off to easily convert it to a vehicle powered handheld with remote antenna. While I hear the stock antenna is pretty bad, I've never had any problems with reception off-road. It's a well built unit.

This I like
