I have a stock 02' liberty. I was wondering what wheels will work for it. i have the stock, 16x7 wheels on it right now with 235/70 grabber at2 tires. I want to buy a set of wheels...kind of on the line of the mickey thompson classic II or the american racing ones that look like that m/t wheels....can i use a 16x8 wheel? and what backspacing do i need? i dont want there to be any rubbing...any help would be greatly appreciated...

Stock is 5.5 inch backspacing, get as close to 5 inch as you can. Anything less than 4.5 could get you rubbing on the outside. Also pulling the BS out could get you rubbing on the pinchweld etc. instead of the swaybar depending on the tire you put on. I have 245/70s on stockers alloys with no rubbing now.

what i think i am gonna do is buy a set of the 16x8 5/4.5 with 4.5 in backspacing wheels....i think i will take off the pinchweld....what do you guys think? do you think it will rub? will it fit? looking at the mickey thompson and eagle alloys...
