What is a popular strap that most people are using?

I can tell you that I probably would not recommend the 'tool shop' brand. The second one I have from them is holding up fine so far, but I broke the first one I had trying to pull small tree/bush stumps.

It was a 10,000lb recovery strap and closer examination of the package revealed that it wasn't recommended to pulling stumps. I still would have expected it to last longer thought. These were stumps generally 3-5inches in diameter and the trees/bushes were 25 feet tall, not an easy task, but the last thing I expected was to have the 10,000lb strap break.

TSC has some decent straps, I just used my 2"X30' to pull some large branches around yesterday, fun stuff. I have never heard anything bad about their straps.

ARB also has some nice straps that are probably good quality and also $$$! It would be worth looking into!

Same here.

In the past when pulling stumps I've placed a towel/blanket or similar around the area prior to placing the tow strap. If you get a small cut on the strap it's pretty much going to hell.

me and all of my friends have used one from wally world with noproblems, and this is on a gmc yukon and silverado, so theres no doubt they can handle snatching and pulling large vechicles that are badly stuck, especially a kj.

If you have a Tractor Supply Company(TSC) around they have some good priced straps that are rated at 20,000-100,000 lbs.I got there 3"x30' 30,000lbs strap.

These seemed to be fairly good prices - haven't used them yet

I have one 3" x 30' right now...debating whether I should get another for load dispersement if I were to ever need to get pulled out of a tight spot on the front hooks. I am not feeling too confident about using one by itself after seeing what putting the full weight of a KJ on it can do. Is it really worth carrying two? What does everyone else pack?

TSC is a great store, I thank whoever suggested that place for purchasing straps. I will be going there soon.

I carry a 18000lb 30' strap, and a 34000 12' treesaver, 3 big shackles, and a turning block to double the purchase of my winch.

Thanks guys. I went to TSC and picked up an Erickson 2 x 30' recovery strap for 35 dollars. Not too shabby.

They are alos selling the hi lift 48" for 30 dollars, don't know if that is a good price.

I have a Pro Comp 3" one. Haven't had occasion to break it in yet though :) . Feels VERY sturdy and well constructed compared to most that I've handled.
