OK guys, I finally got these sandblasted (all rusted when I got them) and picked up all the right hardware. I'm going to hit all the corners with the welder, then stick them in a box this weekend. They will ship out Monday via USPS Priority Mail.

Marty,

What size allen wrench does that big fill plug use? I can't find anything that big.

Check Sears or Napa, they should have them or can order them.I just used a 16mm bolt and a pair of vise grips myself.

You should have had a bolt with a nut welded on it in with that hardware. I make those so you don't have to spend a bunch of money on a special tool. Let me know if you don't have one and I'll get you another one.

Good idea.

Perhaps, grind the bolt down on four sides to make it square so the vise grips hold better and not slip.

Forgot to update this, all the diff covers are on the way. Coming via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box, and you will probably have to sign for it (usually).

Got mine yesterday...wow it is heavy...started painting the outside a base black...haven't figured a good way to make a green rock lizzard to put on there yet...LOL

Question though...do I need to do anything to the inside or is it ok as is?

The gear lube will prevent the inside of the cover and axle housing from oxidizing.

Copy this image to a word document, print it out on thicker construction type paper, cut out the lizard and tracks with an exacto blade, tape it onto the cover and use it as a stencil. Best advise I have, until I get some decals made up.

I'm glad everyone is happy with the covers. You guys should have seen them when I opened the box. Boy was I P####D!!!! Can't believe some companies would send out product that was in that condition. Just to let you all know in advance, those fill plugs do not seat all the way in, but once they tighten up, even if they don't screw all the way in, they will seal so don't force them to go all the way flush with the outside.

I was wondering what box I had waiting for me at the PO (they wont drop it off because it needs a signature). Sounds like a good weekend project!

Yep, the tracking numbers shows that they attempted delivery at 0946 on April 2, and you will need to sign for it, so you'll have to pick it up at the PO.

Got mine, was there a tool somewhere in the box? I dumped all the static charged peanuts in the trash.

It's in the bag with the hardware. It's a home made tool, made of a bolt with a nut welded to it.
