Is it supposed to be funny just because it's an H-3? I've had water in my front floor board before and I sure wasn't laughing. Wait till you get stuck in a wet situation with water coming in, and see if it's still funny. Despite what you may think, KJ's are not invincible, they get stuck and leak too.

Yea its kinda freaky being in deep water...especially without a lift.

This is a picture of me a couple weeks back...my mother was w/ me and we were doing a run on my birthday. I was feeling too good and decided to try this line through a creek...yea It was pretty freaky for a good 10 seconds...I'm glad I made it out.

Image

The water was about 7-8 inches from my door handles and almost over the headlights...this picture doesn't do justice because there was a washed out hole about 10 ft. from where I am now. My mom was freaking out (first wheeling trip for her) and I was pretty much like  .

We made it out...no water and no damage...but if I had gotten stuck the water would surely have come in my interior.

Not that anyone cares but just in case:

Glad I've yet to have a leak like that. *knock on wood*

kinda of topic but, Has anyone had any issues with going through deep water and their fan splashing water everywhere under the hood and on electrial connections? Or has anyone put in a "kill" switch in the fan circuit for deep water purposes? also has anyone had trouble with electrial connections getting wet and killing the engine in water? What connections should a guy try to seal with water resistant grease?

Never heard if anyone having electrical problems..

And yes, the stupid fans throws crap all over the place when going through water.. Makes it alot harder to detail the engine.

Nope...how would one go about doing that besides a snorkel? It seems you could do something along the lines of making it a bit higher....

I was really nervous when I did that...but I didn't have any problems. It's also pretty erie hearing your muffler underwater gargling at you...

My military H1 at work is far from water tight. The engine/drive train is but nothing else. I have been up to my ribcage with water inside my vehicle. It fills up instantly and drains pretty quick too. Scares the poop outta new guys :D Kinda cool to go swimming while you are still driving.

My buddy's Son, an electrican, installed a fan motor cut off switch for me back in early 05, an we also packed the rear motor contacts with Die-Electric grease, along with all the electrical connectors around the engine compartment and underneath the Jeep.

Be aware that going though deep muddy water can result in mud forming on the comutator springs and contacts to the point of not making any contact, which stops the fan from working. If this happens, just pull the shroud, pop the fan blade off, and disasemble the motor and clean with water. Takes less than an hour to accomplish.
