something called too steep and too fast dropping all the weight on what looks like a root right where the t-case was....skids would have helped but i'm sure they would have some dents in them, especially if they were factory...

ohh man, repost *800,000.

Driver error played a big role along with no skids. I dont believe the stock mopar tcase skid would of saved that one though. :?

Whats cheaper...the front diff or t-case? Idiot driver...

It seems the least experienced find speed a neccessity to getting over certain obstacles...

his wife said it all

Pick your line, and know what your rig can do. Not stump the gas, and go for it.

100% correct
I know that a KJ can do that but not a stocker on street tires and no skids

Break over is a B!+*h when you just dont have it

In the stocker's defense (not attacking you Jason...or disagreeing with you :) ), I think you could atleast try most lines a lifted KJ could in a stock lib...but you have to go slow and take everything easy. Of course a very experienced spotter or someone who's wheeled w/ KJs and knows what they can do needs to be helping the driver. I bet you'd be surprised what a stock KJ w/ skids and even the crappy SRA's with a locker could do a lot. Only thing I've discovered about my sport is the open differential (of course...duh!) is one of the hindering factors to some lines. The clearance isn't as big as a problem (because of the short wheelbase) as the open rear diff.

But you'd just be stupid to try stuff with a stocker...like me! Only thing I got going for me is the Pre-Loweredness...but not for long.

Again, just like the H3 that can't climb: less gas, less air in the tires and it would've made it (in one piece, even!). I think that is actually pavement that he came down on. looks like there may be a road just over that rise.

i dont think skidplates had anything to do with it. although i cant see the transfercase well enough in that to tell. i guess there isnt enough information in that clip and bad camera angle to be able to tell. i guess you are supposed to believe from the beginning shot that it was just hanging off when he got off the little mound? or is that mid disassembly? later on, theres a lot of mud on the mounting tabs, maybe that was from after they dropped it. i dont know.

it appears to me that it was the front wheels spinning too fast when he went over the crest and the subsequent shock to the driveline as a result of them hitting the ground and slowing suddenly.

it also doesnt look to me like he hit far enough back to get the transfer case, looks like the transmission area to me

while usually this snaps the front diff, its possible this is what happened.

we all know how easy it is to get a front wheel spinnin.

Contrary to public belief, unless I'm posting a question, the only response I'm looking for is "thank you".

In that Liberty's defence, Its all our fault. That newbie liberty owner had seen all the pix and videos of us having fun and tried it and was showing off when he did not have any experience or did not read this and other forums before doing that.
