ahhhh it wasn't too hard on the rig. it sounds worse than it really was with the tires slipping and such. 8)

It takes more than that to pop the front diff.. Ive had my tires spinning fairly hard to get up hills before and it didnt blow on me.. The pucker factor was high though.. Had to pull the seat cover outta my rear.

Nice Vid Jeep4me99.. You would of walked up that if you had a locker. 8)

jeepjeepster...thanks...a locker is the next major mod

jcphoto20..yea i need some practice on the rocks....not too many down here. I'm pretty good in the sand and mud now though...thats about all we have :( I was trying to take it easy on the bump because I'm not running any skids right now....Now I just noticed when I took the rear sway bar off saturday I have a big ole' dent in one of my rear control arms.

i can't wait to get on some real rocks though... Moab 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i suck at doin the bump, but ive seen some videos of some slick people. i think i probably look exactly like you did.

in videos ive seen tho, that i aspire to, they seem to hit it with exactly the right speed and maintain it.

i think i do the same thing you did, not exactly taking it easy, looks like a little too much throttle that breaks the tires loose at the beginning in combination with a little too much speed and then let off as it hits the bump and that kills the speed.

i dont have enough experience to give the best advice on this, but from what ive seen and felt, looks like you(we) need to stop a little closer to the obstacle. seems like it backed up a bit too far. (that lets you think you can punch it and get goin, that just tends to slip and when it gets traction, theres just a little too much speed) i know theres some timing involved, and whether the tires get off the ground determines if you let off in the middle or if you stay in the gas. either way, concetrate on momentum. if the tires get in the air then you have to have the speed just right and lift off just before the tires go airborne, but get back into it quick enough that the tires dont completely stop when they come back down, but yet not spinning too much either so you dont break anything.

i cant wait to get out there and practice some more :) practicing fun stuff is just more fun to have

im still not a fan of taking the back sway bar off, i want to front to do some travel too.

come on experienced rock crawlers, chime in, im more of a two track enthusiast that sometimes has to go over stuff.

That was harder than it looked. Those crumbs underneath are hell on traction. Much of what we have out here are like the larger rocks you bounced over. At least we can place the tires on them and keep going unless they roll with the KJ. Then look out cross member.

Looks like alot of fun Jeep4me99,just don't get too agressive without those skids. It only takes a split second to cause some major carnage.Nice video though, keep the vids and pics commin'. :)

It looks more like loose gravel climbing which is like driving up a hill of marbles. If you have the LSD in the rear, try the parking brake trick to get power to both rear wheels, 3 or 4 clicks.
