What do those of you with front hitches (or new bumpers?) do with your license plate? In Illinois we are 'supposed' to have a plate in the front and rear, but many cars driving around only have the rear.

I'm fine with having the license plate only in the rear, but I don't to give an excuse to be stopped or have the car searched.

What have some of you done to accommodate a front plate?

They make a adapter to fit on the hitch or you can relocate the front braket.

That solution is too expensive. Get a plain Jane hitch cover from JC Whitney:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Prod ... 11/c-10101

then bolt your plate to it, then pin it in place. When going off road just slip it off, toss the assembly in the back, and slide in your shackle mount and D ring.

I just moved the bracket over to the side and screwed it back in. Easy and cheap.

I cut out a square hole in the cover in it's existing location. Remove 2 screws, pull the plate, the holder stays where it is. Still have good clean access to the receiver and the pin. Although I like the look of it just being moved to the side too. And the best part, neither of these ideas cost $20, they're free.
