I've allways owned fords and jeeps, I've had them all in my life, willys p/u, j-10s, cj5, cj7, cherokee, comanche and wrangler's. We had plenty of fords at the time and the wife got fooled into leaseing a big ole 04 darango, first vehicle she ever got without me being with her and needless to say, the last. She hated it, the thing was just to big and long for her, which I knew it would be when she got it. The plan was, as soon as her lease was up to get back into another escape. I told her last fall that I bet chrysler would let her out of the lease early if she got a jeep. Like I say, I had enough fords already with the ranger and the focus, it was time for another jeep, so I manipulated her alittle with the hopes of an early out with the durango. Sure enough, chrysler would make 6 of her last 12 lease payments and give her repeat customer bonus's and rebates, plus military discounts. Her eye's got big and I new I had her, the kj had everything on it that she wanted down to the color. I knew there would soon be a new jeep in the driveway. She loves it as much as I do, were totally satisfied with 0 problems to date. It fits perfect into our jeep ford family, I hope soon to pick up a yj so I have 2 of each, 2 fords and 2 jeeps. It's cute and it's rugged, appeals to both of us.

I needed a change of scenery. My 01 Jetta 1.8t was a really great car, but I wanted a truck again. As soon as Jeep said it was putting a diesel in the KJ, I started shopping. A few months later I found one and started bugging the dealer.

I will always remember the day I bought it because I was almost late for my second date with the woman that is now my wife. She didn't know who I was when I pulled up.

haha funny.. i also has a jetta only it was a TDI (1.9 turbo diesel).. it was broke down every other week and was one of the least dependable cars I've ever seen.. it was my first car .. and we own a body shop.. so it was pretty nice.. and some tuning made it remotely fast... soo it's good looks paid off when i sold it.. enough that i could add a bit of cash to it and buy my liberty :).. when i went to the dealer iw as looking at a compass (kick me).. after driving a compass.. then the liberty.. it was a no brainer.. I've been in love ever since...

My '96 Cherokee I had for nine years without a hitch, not counting all the replacement bumpers. Easy and cheap to replace. It was a jewel 2 dr, sport, 5-speed, a/c, cruise, My own version of frankenlift, OME, Spacers, AALs, shackles. Point and go.
Well Finally "needed" to replace. June of '05 went to the dealer which sol me my first jeep in 1992.
They had a silver Renegade everything but leather pretty much. Sticker $27,000+, $1,500 below invoice, 0% financing. Tax, title and all fees on 0% loan  . Came to around 23K, 400.00/mo. Just wish it had a 6-speed.

Lifted and new tires before it hit 6,777 miles.

When I picked it up, the dealer knew my afinity toward lifting my jeeps, and asked "So when are you going to lift it?" I replied no this one. But couldn't help myself.

Gotta love dealers who expect you to lift a jeep and support the warranty. Gotta Love 0%, gotta love lots under invoice.

Gotta hate payments, loved the Cherokee w/o payments, kinda got used to it.

Bought a 96 plymouth neon before I even had my drivers permit. Drove it, thought it was ok. after a year got sick of it and started saving for a wrangler. Even put a picture in my wallet to remind me to save money. Senior year of HS was driving to school when the brakes didn't work and crashed into the back of a school bus when it was turning. Neon totaled, used insurance money to get a bone stock 98 TJ...built it up...LOVED IT!!!! Used it to commute from NJ to pittsburgh for school. Senior year of college, thanksgiving break put a deposit down on a mazda zoom zoom something or other, test drove it when it arrived, didn't like it too much and almost hyperventilated thinking about not owning a jeep. Around February, my buddy had a little incident in the TJ with minor body damage plus the reverse gears were making odd noises and starting to have recurring trouble with the engine electrical system. Graduated college, got accepted to grad school in florida and decided I needed a new mode of transportation.... with more room and definately with A/C (which the TJ didn't have). Had test driven the Kj when it first came out and really liked it. But was looking at used Cherokees. Actually had a deposit on one, but to finance would have been $279 a month. Got the brand new 03 KJ on lease for $298 a month. Have since bought it out and will only drive JEEPS from here on out!!!!!

I needed to get rid of my truck:

Image

It was getting high in miles needed tires and some other little things, plus it only got 10 miles per gallon. So I sold it and my dad offered me a deal I couldn't refuse on his 06 liberty. Since I had WJ's and really liked Jeeps, it was a no brainer.

I really like it, gas mileage could be better, my $300 beater neon gets 35, this gets maybe 16, but it's nice.

Well, I had this :
Image
A 2001 VW Golf 1.8t 5-speed, turbocharged 4-door, good on gas, constantly under the wrench car since 2003.
It was a great car for a faily with one child:

That is my daughter Alyna.
Then along comes Milo:

After that I couldn't do the things I needed to do with my family in the one car because his child seat was too big, my bike hobby was getting too big and the groceries were getting too many. I really liked the new 4-door wranglers because they were available with a manual transmission.
I ended up finding out that the liberty's come in manual, and that they are much better equipped and cheaper than the Wranglers. I found my liberty in the next state over, with 8,000 miles on the odometer, and for $17,900. I offered $15,000 and the woman told me that her manager would accept the offer if I were to purchase the vehicle before christmas. I did and couldn't be happier:

:) Started out with a 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited. Loved it.

Wanted bigger so I traded for a Dodge Ram 1500. :D

Gas prices went sky high in September 2005 so I decided to trade in for a ''smaller, more economical'' 4x4. Ram was getting like 10 miles a gallon. I needed to trade for another Dodge/Jeep product so I went for the Liberty. I have to admit, I liked the looks and the drive of the manual transmission... none leaft in stock so I made my wife happy and got the automatic. I thought I would dislike it but it surprised me! I am having so much fun with ths vehicle... and saving lots of gas!

I had a 95 Nissan pick up that was great, but we needed to get something that would actually pull a 3000 pound camper up hill...

Looked at the xterra, escape and a few others but picked the KJ. Other than a stuck brake caliper and the recalls, we haven't had any complaints. Hauls the camper uphill and down, room for the dogs and gets me to all the good fishing spots. As an added bonus, I don't get any more of those calls from friends with large furniture to move in the pick-up.

Had a 01 Grand Cherokee, getting up there in mileage, was looking at other Grand Cherokee's, but none had the features mine had i was trading in.
My salesperson Kyle V (a jeep fanatic like me) at Quirk Jeep in Bangor Maine (my shameless plug!!! ) asked if I ever saw a liberty. I said no, i was not interested in a Liberty.. he asked me if I had ever seen a Renegade Liberty.. I said "no" wtf is a renegade... So he show's me the 05, Deep Beryl Green Libby out on the lot (used of course w/ 14k on it).. I saw the stance, the lightbar, the wrangler-esqe front grille, I fell in love w/ it.. Drove it, the rest is history..
I'm so glad Kyle twisted my arm.. (not really) but at least suggested it.
So that's my story.. I'm glad to be a part of the KJ community now.
