Got a little issue here guys, ever since i swapped out my factory stereo for an aftermarket head unit, i've been getting this annoying buzz out of my left front tweeter. I've done my best to chase it down, but i just haven't had any success, i've replaced all the factory wiring with double shielded 12ga. stuff, but that didn't seem to help either, any suggestions?

could be a mirad of things.. what frequencies does it seem to happen at?... is it constant?
Could be a tweeked speaker cone, or coil..

it's constant for sure, as long as the stereo is on that is. As soon as i turn the HU off it goes away, but when i turn it on it comes right back...

hmm almost sounds like the head unit. since that is the only thing you changed, and the noise was not present before.
and you only hear it in the one driver.. not the whole system.. which makes me feel like its internal with the new HU, and not a bad ground through out the system. You also redid the wiring, so its not a ground short..

Pop the HU out of the dash and unplug the antenna. See if you get it still.

I had an annoying buzz that stayed constant and did not change with idle. Turns out that the component mid in the door had one of its terminals touching the basket. With the basket touching the door, it made a ground and caused the buzz. The HU would actually turn on with no ground connected, just the short in the speaker going back through the amp, through the RCA's and into the HU to create a ground.

Well it goes away (for the most part) when i turn the HU off, but i noticed something weird the other day. It seems to stop whenever someone opens a door and the interior lights come on. Could it somehow be related to the BCM?

Funny you mention this, as the same thing happened to me. When ever the passenger front door was opened or wiggled, the buzzing went away.

I pulled out the speaker and the buzzing stopped. I touched the basket to the door and the buzz came back.

Somehow the speaker was grounding out on the door frame. When the hinge would move, it would make contact in a few places, one of them being with the door closed. When the door was open, no buzz.

I swapped out the speaker for a new one from my audio guy, and all is still well.
