My dealer said I should change the gear oil in the front and back axles every 12K miles? What? I have 80k and never changed it. I ordered some Royal Purple 75 /140 To put in there. But the dealer also says not to use anything but MOPAR because "THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS" anyone have any insight?

they are probly just trying to sell you the mopar stuff. as for the gear oil change i would do it I found metal in mine from brake in at 33000 miles in both axles. so i would change it.

No, you do not need to use Mopar oil.. They were just wanting to make a sell..

I believe royal purple also comes with the friction modifier already in it so if you have a limited slip you are good to go. Read on the bottle to make sure it has the friction modifier in it if you do infact have a limited slip

The gear oil should of been done at 30k and 60k at least. I did mine at 12k and again at 18k when I put my locker in. Ill do it again at 30k along with the tranny and tcase. Ill check the front diff and change it out if needed, I doubt it will need it though.

Sometimes when maintenance like this isnt done, it will show up in the long run. It mostly depends on how the Jeep was used though. If it was a road queen, its ok to not do things like the gear oil for alittle while longer. 80k is just a tad to long though. :?

How much of the friction modifier should be added? I have the trac-lok and am planning on doing my diffs in the next week or so.

Royal Purple does come with the friction modifier; I had a bottle and decided to use it anyways.
FYI: I found Royal Purple synthetic at Pep Boys for $9.99

Yup, the RTV will be fine. Thats what most people use anyway. I personally order gaskets from Randys Ring and pinion. Never had any leaks and it saves ALOT of time. I wont need to clean the other RTV off next time either.

My dealer wanted 110 pier axle. I just finished my Rusty's 2.5 spacer lift and I have had nothing but trouble. I am a maintenance manager and I got the help of my best mechanic to install the spacers the rear went in very easy besides having to drop the rear end to allow the spring to go back in with the spacer. The front well .....its sitting there until tomorrow. We had nothing but trouble after putting the spacers in how can you get it all back together? we pushed pulled adjusted and I decided to ask Ruasty's tomorrow. just so everyone knows. It is not as easy as the internet says. you must remove the battery, and lots of other things just to get to the strut mounts. The rear looks good and the front spacers looked solid (but i had to redrill all the holes larger for it to line up Big pain). Has anyone installed this lift and can tell me an easier way to finish my Libby?

Did you use a spring compressor to compress the spring after adding the spacer? Put it back together the same way you took it apart.

well I fianally finished my lift install and it looks great I don't know why they sell these with out them. I ended up haveing to lower the A arm and the sway arm to get the strut back in. My spring comppressor kept getting stuck between the spring so I apted to lower everything. during my fish high ride I heard allo of popping. I re check all the torx spec per my hanes manual and have an alignment scheduled for tomorrow. Anyone know what make the popping sound? will the alignment fix it? It looks like I will be changes axle oil during the weekend anything to be aware of while I'm under there?
