2004 Limited ready for Frankenlift

Here are some pics of my 04 out on my favorite West Virginia trail. I just ordered a frankenlift, so it will be taller in the next photos. Unfortunately, my 235/70R16 Silent Armors are too new to replace any time soon. I really like the silent armors though.

Man I really miss those back roads in that area. How far do you live away from Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods, Davis, Black Water Falls, well you know the area. Used to spend a lot of time there back in the day, used to camp a lot back on Wilderness Road.....well now I

The one is in front of Seneca Rocks rest are all in that area from the looks of them.

As Tommudd say, the one is in front of Seneca Rocks. The rest were taken on Canaan Loop Road. This easy road is about 17 miles and loops through some beautiful country. It passes trout streams, highland bogs and all sorts of stuff. There are two interesting fords. the one in the picture is a bit more difficult than the picture indicates. The road can be accessed in Blackwater Falls State Park or about 4 miles south of Davis West Virginia at the top of Canaan Heights. The area has lots of nice forest service roads. There aren't any really extreme areas because it is all protected wilderness, so you have to stay on the roads. You can see more of the area at my website shown in my signature.

Thats the road that I was thinking of, used to go back in there and camp for a week or so every year. That was back when they still had the Blackwater 100 every year, long time ago! Beautiful country for sure. do you have any more pictures of the area?

Here are the new pics after the frankenlift. I am disappointed by the quality of the pics. I accidently forgot and left the camera on ISO 3200, so they are pretty grainy. I will reshoot and post some better ones later.

are the tires in the pics the stock size I got a lift comming but dont have the money for new tires yet so Im just trying to see how it would look with stock size tires

The tires in the pics are Wrangler Silent Armor 235/70R16 which is a stock size. You may have 225 or 215 tires on your jeep. It all depends on the packages you got. I would think it would look really bad with 215 series tires that comes on some of the base sport models.

Okay...here are some decent pics of the Mountain Goat with a Frankenlift. I will probably be getting spidertrax and some Destination ATs in 245/70R16....maybe next week.

Looks really good trailpixie Wish I lived a little closer like I used to so WE could meet up and do the loop (FOREST SERVICE) roads! There will be so much more difference now than before! GREAT JOB!! :wink:

Thanks for the pictures. My Wife is wanting to Frankenlift her Liberty and I was wondering what it would look like with the factory sized tires. It’s a new 2007, so we wont be putting new tires on for a while. She doesn’t want to seriously go off-road, so she will put the tallest tires on without needing to pound down the pinch weld. Any ideas on tire size? We might buy a second set of wheels (16's) instead of (17's).

If you have the 235/70R16 tires, I don't think it looks bad. As a matter of fact, I like it. One thing to remember is that immediately after the lift is completed, it will sit higher for awhile (20 miles for me) before it settles to a more reasonable height.

As for the largest tire and the pinchweld, it varies. Most people wait to get the vehicle lifted before making a tire size decision. For me, the pinchweld isn't a problem. With stock tires and the wheel turned full lock to the left, I am rubbing against the sway bar. It isn't a big problem because the sway bar is rounded and only rubs the inside tire sidewall, but it is a bit annoying.

Generally 245/70R16 is the largest size with no modifications. 245/75R16 probably would need the pinchweld pounded down. 235/75R16 (an uncommon tire size) would probably work without major problems. I guess it depends on whether you want a taller tire or a wider tire.

Thanks for the information. You gave me some ideas to consider. Do you have any pictures of your Jeep Frankenlifted?
