Don't laugh at my question. I have no mechanical experience. Just got my first hammer last year.
I want to put some oil or grease on my brake pedal because it squeaks when pushed down all the way.
What goop should I use?
I don't know the difference between oil, grease, WD40, etc.....
Does it matter which goop I use?

You could try WD-40.. walmart has it. Just dont get it on the pedal itself.

Slipery brake pad isn't any fun..

Put some cardboard or newspaper down on the carpet near the hinge for the brake pad and spray away. WD-40 will work but it won't last too long

I would try to WD-40 first to make sure the squeak will actually go away. It may be something else that you cannot lube.

And yes, a grease would last longer. You could buy a tube of the grease at walmart and use it. You wouldnt need a grease gun for it, just take the cap off, get what grease you need, then put the cap back on. One end will open like a can of tuna and the other will have a cap.. Take the cap off and leave the other end closed.

I have the same squeek, but not all the time.. I don't know what causes it, if it is the temp or something, but I have the same one, when pumping the brake I can hear it.

Well I think the squeak is coming from somewhere I can't oil or grease. Might be inside the booty thing. Hope it wears off.

I had another question: Was stuck in a traffic jam today and was on and off the brake about 6 million times.
There is a clicking sound everytime you push the brake and release it.
What is that?
Is there some kind of computer switch that the brake clicks on and off?
