Wanted to pass some information along from

These are centrifuge diesel oil filters that are reusable and catch solids or particulate to 1/10 of 1 micron. The centrifuge operates with a rotor that spins inside the drum at 7,000 rpms. The rotor looks like an upsidedown Rainbird sprinkler.
These were developed for Semi's and heavy equipment engines but have also available for other diesel engines.
You can leave your regular oil filter on but since the centrifuge catches particulate down to less than 1 micron, changing the oil filter is not needed each oil change. Installing the centrifuge requires some additional plumbing. Some have used a "T" fitting to where the oil sending unit attaches. Either rubber hydraulic hose or steel lines can be used to connect to the centrifuge.
Check out the photo of the filter at the website as it shows the caked on oil sticking to the sides of the centrifuge.
The centrifuges cost $289 including the brackets and hardware for the smallest unit the OC-20. A larger unit the OC-50 handles 110gph at $479 might be a tad large for the 2.8L CRD.
My initial thought is if your not running the ORM, then this could help reduce the amount of particulate running through the oil system from the EGR.
