Lots of us haen't had the air issues yet. I have the CAT filter on order but I am a little gun shy about making the change and bringing myself bad luck.

so when will we get an aftermarket filter head? sounds like this is the biggest real flaw with the CRD. All other thing being equal, the ORM fixes some driveability and longevity issues, and the provent / EHM get rid of some more longevity and economy issues, this fuel filter head is a stinker though. I plan on using the old filter gasket between the two hockey pucks when my CAT filter kit arrives, hoping that takes care of my air in the fuel problem.

I've had the urge to try these guys:
http://www.maesco.com/products/racor/r_spn_intro/r_spn_intro.html

They have quality filters, available (bottom-mounted) heaters (which can't be that hard to adapt to the lib). The only questions are if RACOR's water sensor would work with the voltage expectations on the CRD's computer, and also the fuel temp sensor (both mounting and functionality). The nice thing is that they give you what looks like 2 NPT bungs on each side of the fuel flow to put in accessories (bleeders, sensors, etc). I might call them out of curiousity just to see how much they cost. Anything has to be better than the dealership $180 POS.

Here's some more info: http://www.parker.com/EAD/Digital_asset ... t_id=28523

How much flow (gph) would we be looking at?
