Completely wrong area but I am desperate:

Need an"M" Bolt... to save me pulling off my bumper. These are the weird bolts that come with the Front Tow Hook install kits. You might have removed them to put in a brush-bar or something. NOT the factory plate with two-bolts.

Any leads appreciated. Dealers don't seem to sell the part alone. Parts guys can't find it for me. "jparts.com" doesn't seem to be around anymore.

I might have those, I found an '04 OEM brush guard at my local recycle yard, the sales guy is my old neighbor who let me take it to see if it will fit. '04 guard and '05 CRD don't mix though. are you looking at a kinda flat on top M that has a longer leg on one side, maybe 1-1/2 on center for the threaded part?

Yeah, kinda a squared u-bolt.

The M bolts I'm hoping for are the ones in these instructions:
http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82206124.pdf

Is that them? I would be much oblidged...

what I have in the garage are not like the illustration, one leg is longer than t'other, and the whole thing is about 1-3/4 square, the illustration looks to me like a rectangular shaped profile with same length legs. I'll post a picture on my autodomain page tonight if you want to look.
sorry :(

Techtim: actually, that sounds about right. The bolts are 1 1/2 inch apart.
Hmmmm. I'd love to see the pic.

meanwhile, for this weekend, I'm just bending a piece of threaded rod to fit in. I'm not towing the vehicle this weekend, just using it as a tie-down.

my cardomain page, or their server has been kablooie the last couple days.
I had to take the brush guard back to the parts yard where I found it, so the mounting kit went with it, sorry. :?

that thing didn't look like a structural piece, are you relying on this bolt thingy to keep your bumper on, or is it just the plastic cover?

This bolt holds the tow hook on. Kinda thought the factory piece looked flimsy, too. Supposed to hold your Jeep !

Last night I started bending the threaded rods to make a square U bolt....what a PITA

Well, it will hold a canoe....I hope!

have a good holiday weekend...

do the same :D

the thing I had was very flimsy, not a tow hook attach bolt by any stretch.
