I got a 25K maintenance program as an incentive with my Liberty and that is done to it is time to move to self maintenance. I think I have found an '02 air box locally and plan on the Amsoil EAA-102 when that is in. I also planon an Amsoil EAO-26 oil filter.

When it came to oil I figured I had three ones to select from. First Mobil 1 10W40, second Amsoil HDD 5W30, and last Shell Rotella T 5W30. Amsoil and mobile were both very expensive at $26>$28 per gallon but I have not been able to find the Rotella anywhere in my neck of the woods. Finally I broke down today and went to the place I hate to shop at most of all places in the world (Sorry Wally World fanatics but place, the people and the ethics there suck). They only had Rotella 15W40 and 10W40. I went ahead and bought the 10W40 since that is what Jeep recommends anyhow.

Since the 5W30 seemed to be disappearing around the country could it be that this replaces it?

Jeep recommends 0W40 not 10W40. My last oil change I used Mobil 5W40 diesel truck full synthetic. I wouldn't use a 30 weight or anything thicker that 5W40. Oil for our rigs is expensive but I do like the 6250 mile interval. As soon as I use all 6 of my mopar oil filters I will go with the amsoil filter and see how far I can stretch the interval to make the synthetic oil more cost effective.

Golly you're correct. So much for memory after 50. I guess it is a return to Walley World and either exchange for Mobile 1 or see if I can find someplace to order Rotella T. Darn!!!!!

God I hate old age. Not only can't I remember the manufactures spec for the oil in the CRD, I can't remember what I bought between the 15 miles to WW and home. I went to the Shell site and they simply do not list Rotella T 5W30 only 5W40 in the same blue jug I bought so I went out to look and sure enough 5W40  . So I will be using it but where oh where is the 5W30? Is is discontinued since Shell doesn't even list it?

Rotella T synthetic 5-40 is fine. Have been using it forever in our 2 Dmax's and CRD.
