Hi everyone. I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty with everything stock and almost 65000km on the odo. There has been a couple of times that when the ignition is initially turned on the engine is reving between 1800-2000 rpm on idle. I would put my brakes on and put the Jeep in gear and the rpm would go down below the 1000 mark. I don't feel anything different when the vehicle is moving but if it is put back in park the rpm would be below 1000 but the needle is moving up and down like I was tapping on the gas. It would just also go away on it's own. Has anyone else notice this? Can anyone help.

Thanks in advance,
Bonn

Hmm, mine usually idles right at 1k when its cold. Could be the Intake Air Control sensor going bad. I would think it would throw a code for that though.

Ever changed the spark plugs? How many miles are on the air filter? Ever change it? Is it dirty?

What is 65,000km in miles?
