HOW CAN IT BE WAY CHEAPER THO....ENGINE TRANNY ECU....THEN MOUNTS....IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I WOULD SPECIFCALLY NEED?
Wiring harness(es) and just about all accessories under the hood-- power steering, inner-cooler, ac/tranny cooler, alternator, boost pressure solenoid, brake master cylinder may be different?, BCM, half shafts, radiator, motor and diff mounts, drive shaft to front diff (probably requires custom shaft or a select trak at the other end), struts/springs, fuel filter assembly, battery tray, I think the brake lines are different in the front end but not sure, all hoses and the engine belt... flashed TCM to work with the CRD if not already out of a CRD, engine heater, basically... everything you see under the hood has to go and get replaced with CRD specific parts. Maybe you can keep the airbox, but that is about it (the CRD even has its own airbox, but many have put the gasser box in it). You would need a whole wrecked CRD for parts inorder to make it viable, probably one that was rear-ended or side-swiped so that you had good parts to pick from.
Plus the EPA will be pissed that you converted a gas to a diesel and you might not be able to register it/sell it-- as most states will require it to meet gasser emissions standards-- which it will not without lots of modifications.
Then you would have to get a real torque converter, probably a new tranny pump (if it is the old design) on top of that, hunt down and fix any fuel leaks and probably do the ORM or some equivalent...
If I was going to do all that... I would put the engine in something besides a KJ, loose the 545RFE in favor of a manual, and replace the fuel filter system with one that actually works. Then swap it into something like a stripped down frame from a CJ/TJ or maybe even an old Land Rover Defender or Disco. There is precious little room in the KJ for that CRD to begin with.
