Hey, Im kind of new to all this, and I couldn’t find a straight answer anyplace...
I would like to put a RB1 Nav system in my '04 liberty limited
Currently I think I have the RBP radio (CD/Tape/AM/FM/CD changer controls)

My main concern is that I cannot navigate and listen to a cd at the same time.
Might sound weird to some people but several places say the navigation DVD must be in the cd slot for it to work?
If that is the case, (then through my deduction) I cannot play a cd when driving on my trip to where ever.
I know in my mothers Subaru legacy, you can play cd's and navigate at the same time (we've done it).

If any of you guys could give me some first hand knowledge and clear this up for me,
I would greatly appreciate it.

The RB1 takes only one disc at a time, and the moment you remove the nav dvd it navigation will not work. You would need the rear changer to be able to play a cd and navigate at the same time.

I also experienced this first-hand after installing an RB1 a few months ago. If you want to use the Navigation feature, the Navigation DVD must be inserted into the disc slot. So unless you have a CD changer, you cannot play a CD and use the Navigation at the same time. However, since my entire music collection is on my iPod, I decided to install the MOPAR iPod Integration Kit so I can play songs on my iPod through the sound system while using the Navigation feature. The part number for the iPod kit is 82209616AC, and you can find it on eBay for about $150. The CD changer is going for about $400, so for me, the iPod kit was a much cheaper solution to listen to all my songs.

Most of my songs are also on my IPod

I looked up the Ipod kit, but saw that their's different p/n RB1 Nav radios,
I don’t want to be a nuisance but could you (or anyone) tell me what RB1 Nav Radio P/N will work best in my 04 libb.
(they could be the same for all i know)
and is it even possible for the ipod kit to display the song and artist on the radio (like Sirius).

Im also going to search for more info after I post this…

All good questions, and I'd be happy to answer them.

The iPod kit is compatible with RB1 radios with model numbers ending in AH and AI. Generally speaking, as long as your RB1 unit was purchased within the past 2 years or so, you shouldn't have any issues. The older models are almost extinct. A good way to tell if you have a newer model is to look for the presence of the "DVD" logo on the upper-left of the RB1 unit, right by the disc slot. (Here is an example.) If your RB1 has the DVD logo, then it is most likely an older unit and you might want to check the model number before purchasing the iPod kit. If your RB1 does NOT have the DVD logo, then it is most likely a newer unit and you should be good to go.

If you're going to buy your RB1 on eBay (which I would recommend doing -- you can find some pretty good deals) then you should check the pictures of the actual unit and look for the model number before actually buying it. Take this auction for example. The RB1 model number is 56038629AH and the unit does NOT have the DVD logo on it, as seen in the picture in that auction. If you were to get that unit, the iPod kit would work perfectly.

And regarding the song/artist info on the screen -- YES, when you use the iPod kit with an RB1 radio, the song title and artist information is displayed on the screen (just like when using Sirius).
