Just had the blower thingy done. I had called on Monday so they could order the part. Took it in today and 45 min. later, the guy tells me. yep, we will order that for you. I said WTF!!!! I called on Monday and had you order it then. He said DCX makes them verify before ordering parts. I say, it's a freaking safety recall. No need to verify crap. He say he will go check to be sure someone didn't make a mistake. 5 min. later, I have my son go out and see if the Jeep is in the parking lot and sure enough, it is with a pair of legs sticking out of the door with a body under the dash. Son tells me there is a box laying on the seat. Anyway, got er changed out.

I may be wrong but I believe the '06 was the first model to put the air conditioner switch on the selector and I believe that is the problem switch being fixed on just '06 and '07.

You are correct the recall is just on the - "OMG it can't be 2006 CRD models", and 2007 gassers.

2006 - 2007 (KJ) Jeep® Liberty
NOTE: This recall applies only to the above vehicles built through August 15, 2006
(MDH 081523). This is 149,000 vehciles.

Each dealer to whom vehicles in the recall were assigned will receive enough blower
motors to service about 5% of those vehicles.

Just to clarify, you don't HAVE to wait for the official announcement to reach you. Just call up your favorite Jeep dealer and have them order you the blower, and make an appointment. They will need your VIN to verify if they don't already have it on record. I have YET to receive any notice on the previous recalls. I am not fond of the recalls being done, but it is great that they are taking care of business. Still a great ride with or without the recalls. At least I missed the TC recall. :D

Called to make an appointment for the blower motor recall G-03. Dealership told me I was on the list which was three pages long so far, and the dealer has no parts and doesn't know when DC will send them. They haven't done not a single recall yet. I told the dealer at least they will know how to fix it by the time they get to my Liberty.

After all the time wasted, actual time for the tech was 10 minutes.

No surprise there - I've been waiting since the end of March, when I made an appointment for an F37 Chrysler TC, to come in. Let's see, that's 2.5 months so far. Oh, wait, I already fixed the problem myself... guess I'll just have to pass on it if/when it arrives.

:-)
