Running wires?

until now i have simply ran the wires ive needed through the door jam, to the dash mounted switches, well I've added too many and the weatherstripping isnt flush against the door, and it leaks when it rains.

Today i looked at running through the firewall, but man it looks a like a pain. Is this the best way to go or is there something easier?

When you say you looked at going thru the firewall, are you saying you looked in the engine compartment and wondered how you'd get around all the stuff crammed in there or did you happen to see the post in the tech section on using the factory firewall penetration?

Thanks! that helps alot. I was looking at going through the place that all the other wires are running through, but that one you posted above looks much easier to do.

How hard is it to access the wire once youve gone through the firewall, like from cabin-side, through wall, to engine side?

It's a bit of a squeeze to get your hand down into that area by the master cylinder, but if you take a wire coat hanger and straighten it out then run it down thru the opening you can tape the wires to it from the cabin side and then pull them back up into the engine side.

You could always stop by your local Harbor Freight (or internet or catalog)and pick up a cheap wire fish, like I did. I picked up a 50 footer for about $25 - overkill for an auto app, yes, but you can use it at home as well for a myriad of projects.
